If you compare Brees first 2 years in NO to Ryans last 2 years here (Brees had 5 years expereince when he went to NO Ryans in his 4th year)

Brees comp% obviously higher due to the offensive system.

Brees tds 28+26=54

Ryan 28+26=54 with 2 games to go.

Brees yards though. 8841

Ryan 7403. Probably 1k less at the end of the year.

INTs Brees 29 Ryan 21

Probably 22-23 at end of the year.

YPA Brees 7.3

Ryan 6.9

QB rating Brees 92.5

Ryan 91

Pointless but it's interesting to see side by side.

Brees joined the Elite Club his Super Bowl year, not in 2006-2007.

Ryan hasn't been a Top 5 QB, so the franchise argument is invalid...aka Top 5 ... Elite.

I agree with you. I just think he's better than any rival fan will give him credit for.

@SR to your reply to my post. I said that it was pointless but jus interesting to look at.

weve said numerous times hes n the second tier

and to even put ryan near brees is ridiculous

double standard

Colstons numbers are alot closer to white than ryan to brees.

so how is colston not in whites tier

Injury prone and not as consistent year to year. Also Colston has had more than 1200 yards one time and it was 1202. The rest are below 1100. Roddy has 1 season since 07 under 1200 and no less than 80 catches in any of them. Colston has gotten more than 80 catches twice. I put Colston just below the elite tier of WRs.

i would put him in the second tier too.

with our system for him to have 80 is awesome!

but your also nitpicking seasons, roddy had two years prior to 07

over a 1000 every year but ONE

thats consistancy. TD Machine too.

2006

#1 in both yards and tds

2007

#1 in yards #2 in tds

2008

#1 in both AGAIN

2009

#3 in yards #1 in tds

2010

HOLY **** #1 again in both

2011

#1 in yards and PROBALY #2 in tds

this is top tier

ryan not so much

Brees in 2006 had 26 tds and 11 ints

Matt Ryan Right now has 26 tds and 12 ints in 14 games

Brees in 2007 had 28 tds.......

last year in 2010 Matt Ryan had 28 tds

And No Brees was not # 1 in tds in 06 OR 07

He was rd in 06 and 6th in 07

so yeah this illustrates my point perfectly.

Ryan puts up near IDENTICAL numbers to Brees for multiple seasons yet he some how he is not top tier but brees is.

Roddy is only the 8th player in nfl history to have 80+ catches and 1100 yards in 5 strait seasons.

We already debunked the target myth too.

Colston gets MORE targets per game then Roddy does...yet Roddy has out produced him pretty heavy.

some people need to learn what a check down is and what a SCREEN is!!!

No Bres does an excellent job of finding Sproles and in not just screens but as a check down .

in fact 1/4 of Brees's completions have gone to running backs.

And for the record I am not bashing him for it... great players puts the ball in the hands of his best play makers and this year that is Graham and Sproles.

Taking what defense is giving you and making them pay is the sign of a great qb.

I just think its funny how all of a sudden that is a great thing in Rivals eyes but when Ryan did that last year........... oh he was scared.

Oh so now You are using just the nfc.

So it is acceptable to just use the conference right?

Just checking because if you DO use that argument then Ryan is the very definition of top tier.

You can not have it both ways.

you need to watch more football

The falcons do NOT run screens

PAT Y even had an article about it/

they had something like 60 yards this season

SO RYAN was CHECKING DOWN ALOT

the saints run the SCREEN better tha anyone

and we run it ALOT

YOU wanted the NFC only which if you read i said it was STUPID but i went along with it

WHY would we change NOW

OH i know cause it ****s up your argument

and RYAN is still not even close to the top tier

If you are using the nfc as a measuring stick

then he is in the top 5 in most important category.

top 5 in tds, big plays, qb rating., and the ones he is not he is within striking distance of all of those. save maybe ypa

in 2010 he was top 4 in yards, td, qb rating, he threw the second fewest ints of any starting qb.

Had the second best Td/int ratio.......he was top 3-5 in almost every area.

Just admit you are wrong and you are hating because he is a falcon.

You don't run a screen 150 times.

That is about what your running backs have you may run the screen 3-4 times a game at most.

We do not run many screens because we do not do well at them......no question about that.
