Next Week Is Not A Lost Cause!

Fans and the media always measure by the most recent data point.

If you reverse the two halves of Sunday games, all the analysis leading up to next Sunday is, "After struggling for 3.5 games, the Falcons finally put all the pieces together and play a flawless half of football to steal the win."

Well, the problem is the halves are not reversed. Therefore, the fact that the Falcons finally put together an entire half of near flawless football is totally forgotten, replaced with the most recent data point...a very ugly half.

Now I'm here to tell you, there was plenty to like in that ugly half.

Atlanta started the half with a successful 1st down deep throw to JJ.

Atlanta converted 3 3rd downs to get the clock down to 1:43 before kicking to Seattle at the end.

Atlanta kept the play calling extremely balanced on 1st and 2nd downs in the 2nd half. Nearly 50/50 run pass mix on both downs.

On the plays where our secondary wasn't lost in space, they were laying some massive hits on ball catchers.

We did plenty wrong in that half, but even in our ugly half we made a handful of plays that kept us from actually blowing the lead and losing the game like several others did yesterday.

Bottom line, we can win this game. Green Bay's defense can be had. We need to gamble some on defense and make as many big plays as we give up.

We need to play with some pride and payback in mind. Trust me, Rogers is hellbent on humiliating the falcons. These guys want to make a statement every week. The only thing they will understand is brute force, execution, and a never die attitude. Someone in the nfl has to find a way to beat these guys and we have proven it several times before and Aaron will remember this when and if things go roughly for the pack early on...

we will blow them out and make them look like pretenders until the 3rd quarter, then they will score 92,0000 points setting an all time record.

We should see if the NFL will let us officially call the 3rd quarter "the post 4th quarter quarter" when we are at home. Maybe if we don't say the words the curse will stop.............

100% agree. Heres the most critical stat for the entire game on sunday night. " 3rd down conversions ". We must get GB off the field on 3rd down, and in return...we must stay on the field on offense.
