fansince78
I really did not like the way the team handled the pre-season games. After a long lockout and a short camp, they should have used those games to knock the rust off of the veterans and get the new acquisitions used to playing at NFL speed. I think the game against the Bears showed a lot more rust than the coach expected and the timing was not there. Fortunately, they took that beating and turned it into motivation for the rest of the season. They must have worked really hard last week to prepare to play the Eagles and they got the job done.As the next several games go by, I expect the timing between Matt and the receivers to improve tremendously and the vets to return to last years form. Optimus*Crimes
Ditto. The Vets who hae been in the league started just fine (i.e. Gonzo, Abe), but a lot of the younger guys seem to be just catching on. We'll just get better through the year... They acted if they didnt need the work in pre-season.

ZOSO62
I think you will see the O-line start to gel (except Baker) by week 4.
fansince78
I think Baker finally picked it up in the 4th quarter the other night. I was shocked when I watched the game again and saw that he was knocking the same dude backwards three yards that had been killing him all game up to that point. IrishFalco
There isn't any rust. They just have played against tough defenses. Most of our first half is against tough defenses, while the rest of the schedule...not so much.
dhayester
B-but how.... http://boards.atlant...ngs-from-tampa/Dont worry new guy/girl.. I'm in the same boat.. I can't start a new topic though I've been a member for going on a year (just read the boards for a couple years before that). But these new user names pop up outta no where starting new threads. It's somewhat annoying, but I honestly have no need to start a thread -- all the 'members' keep the topic train rolling well enough. hammerhead
This team is starting to jell Guys.. I cant imagine how far ahead it would have been had they played the starters in pre season games.but oh well it is what it is..and its starting to come together rather nice now and its only going to get better.. Guest Negatorris
Ah okay. I can probably live with that. 100 posts is nothing compared to how much people post and argue here all the time. And I love to defend the Falcons!

Every dumb thought that strikes someone upside the head gets flushed on to the board as if the new topic button is their own personal toilet bowl handle. Think the coaches did about as well as they could have this off season.
