StudentOfTheGame
That was bad clock management. I was having visions of the Giants game from last year.

Not probably, it was a coaching error. In terms of the mindset that was not the proper way to do it, but we were able to get through it. We don’t play perfect games, we don’t coach perfect games.”
wonderboy09
Big time error that could've cost us dearly.
madman88
tell me about it.... i didnt get it either. we have a RB who is having a good game, let him run the clock out and be done with it.... finish this game with a statement... The Falcon Jedi Knight
Smith should have known better than that. I hope he learned a lesson. Luckily we got away with it.

AF89
It's hard to tell the best coach in franchise history he needs to do better, especially after a win but way too many mental mistakes tonight. (10 men on defense wtf?) Thankfully things like that are easy to learn from and correct. Now if Matty could just get some blocking, we'd be set. MattM12
Yes, strange one, but worked out ok. Special teams coverage was actually very good for the most part.

vel
Would you guys have been happy to have Smitty make a coaching error or a fumble/injury?
Chi City Falcon
Would you guys have been happy to have Smitty make a coaching error or a fumble/injury?well thats obvious.but id rather our running back who doesnt show a tendency to fumble and who was having a good game get the ball and try to get just one more first to seal it. AllStarHandyMan
why give turner more carrys so there might be a fumble cause Sam Baker was getting killed over there! or if we run it and someone gets hurt! or so at the end of the year people well say he is slowing down! so why do that? more bad things could happen then good things and they were going to do run D# so it would be that much harder for us to get it!!! GOOD JOB COUCHING TEAM!
vel
Kneeling is a 0% chance of injury or fumble. The defense doesn't even send a rush when they see victory formation so even if Ryan fumbled it, he would have recovered it. Yea they had 15 seconds but would 3 runs have run that much more time off the clock? They would have still had to punt it to Jackson. Maybe no Hail Mary but the odds of running all of the clock out were low since they knew 3 runs would have been the call and they all would have been up the middle. vel
It's all opinion. Clearly Smitty feels running would have been the right thing to do but clearly he felt kneeling was just as good an option or he wouldn't have thought or done it.All I'm saying is, they were stopping the run for a good portion before the 61 yarder. In this situation though, the defense knew that it was only going to be run plays up the middle if they ran it. The % of getting 10 yards is lower then than it was in the first quarter because you only have to guard 1 thing. No pass or play action. So the odds of getting a first down really weren't that much higher.
Miller2Rison
looking at it from a coaching stand point they probably thought we were going to be able to run the clock out, u really don't want to risk a football inside the 20 but bosher probably should have kicked the ball out of bounds and not straight to desean jackson
falconut-91
I think he was looking for the safe way out. But with Jackson back there, I don't know that was a safe way either. Why didn't he try to kick it out of bounds? Maybe he was, it seams thus far that he's not a good kicker and maybe a chance of a block. Anyway, they escaped it. So, good win. Carl927
It's a judgment call either way, but a fumble on our own 20 would've surely lost the game. An injury with a minute forty to go would have been disastrous. Trusting the kicker to place the ball deep with a couple of ticks left for a rookie QB seems the surer bet.Of course, our kicker made it interesting by booting it into the worst possible spot. gtjackets1729
It really wasn't that hard to tell Ryan to take a few steps back and kneel down. The onus is on Ryan as well for not figuring that out. Kicking it to DeSean Jackson was absolutely moronic, especially with a terrible rookie punter and after what he did against the Giants. ol'_dirty2
WTF just run it to get a first down why are we taking knees when we cant run out the entire clockAaaaand if you must kneel on it...you don't have to kneel immediately each time either. Holding it just a couple more seconds on each kneel down would've wiped that clock down to nothing but a punt return. Make the tackle and end the game. None of this chance to throw to the endzone crap.

ChucktownFalcon
if we would have ran the ball the eagles probably wouldn't have had a chance for hail mary... turner could of had 3 carries that probably would have wasted at least 3 seconds per carry.. imo it was bad coaching
