Gallarda, 6-foot-5, 262 pounds, was originally signed as a college free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2011. He was a four-year letterman at Boise State, where he had 25 receptions for 257 yards and nine touchdowns.

Branson, 6-3, 247 pounds, was originally signed by the Denver Broncos as a rookie free agent following the 2009 NFL Draft. He was signed to the Falcons practice squad on October 28, 2010 and later signed as a reserve/future free agent by the Falcons on January 18, 2011. He was signed to of the Falcons practice squad again on September 5, 2011.

This guy is a stud. Great pick up. I still remember this catch from the ESPN Top 10 of the week where he was sliding out the back of the end zone at the Virginia Tech game last year. Big blocking TE with hands. Reminds me of Grontkowski. Should be great in run blocking and pass protection.

Why did we get Winterswyk in the first place with this guy available? Will never understand TD's "style".

I wondered the same thing and Googled Gallarda. He was signed by Jacksonville and made it to the last cut. There were positive comments about his preseason. He and Winterswyk were teammates at Boise State. Apparently Winterswyk played DE and Gallarda TE.
