Sheldon Cooper
I like Nick Hayden. I guess Marcus Stroud is too expensive or not interested in playing for now.
raysnill1
I like Nick Hayden. I guess Marcus Stroud is too expensive or not interested in playing for now.it would be awesome to get Stroud. a former Pro-Bowler as a stop gap. Hayden is a big dude, we need someone with some size in the middle
Rings
Wonder why neither were good enough for Carolina to bring back. Maybe they couldn't spend any more money on their d-line after CJs huge deal.
since68andcounting
Why not Pat Williams? The guy is a TRUE NT, which we haven't had since Gravy left.
falconfanEST1989
they need to try out a new OC and DC !!!
B_Lo_Touchdowns
I like Hayden he's a big dude, but if we're trying out DT's why not Chris Hovan, or Tank Johnson. Maybe even Darryl Tapp. I think Pat Williams is still available. He and Edwards reunited could be awesome for us. Ed Roland
He Looks Like A BadA#@:Hayden Signs His Deal with PanthersJuly 18, 2008 by btisportsCHARLOTTE — The Carolina Panthers have signed sixth-round draft choice (181st overall) Nick Hayden from Wisconsin, the team announced. A 6-foot-4, 292-pound defensive tackle, Hayden played in 44 games, starting the final 39 contests of his career, for the Badgers. He compiled 132 tackles, 10 sacks, six quarterback pressures, six fumble recoveries, which tie for the third most in school history, six passes defensed and two blocked kicks.Hayden was twice named All-Big Ten Conference honorable mention. He earned the recognition as a senior in 2007 when he recorded 48 tackles and 4.5 sacks and as a sophomore in 2005 when he produced career highs of 56 tackles and 5.5 sacks. Hayden becomes the first of the Panthers nine draft choices to sign.
SavvyFalcon89
I would kinda laugh if Nick Hayden suddenly turned into a exceptional DT......but hey a guy could hope right
Sheldon Cooper
Wonder what would have to happen to add a DT to the roster. Would Babinaux go on PUP list and miss a mandatory 6 games before being eligable to return or would we have to keep him on the roster and cut a player? NorCal Falcon Fan
Babineaux missing 6 games seems about right for allowing his ligament to heal. IMHO, Pat Williams would be the better option if he's willing.
Sheldon Cooper
I dont know the PUP list rules. Does anyone know how that works? If we need to add a body I wish we would get someone in here.
iDash
Doesnt DT Stroud already know the MS defense?
kschreck
Maybe someone could correct me on this one but Stroud seems like the only guy out there that could step in and actually have a decent idea of what we're doing.
kschreck
Doesnt DT Stroud already know the MS defense?exactly, seems like a no brainer. Must be something we don't know.
Sheldon Cooper
Derek Landri at 6-2, 290, with 6 career sacks,(3 sks last year, 43 tckles, 16 starts) seems the best fit to stand in for Babinaux.
delaigle
I'm not sure about Babs being eligible for the PUP list, I may be wrong but I thought a player had to be injured before game 1 to be eligible for the PUP list. Correcdt me if I'm wrong.I think they would let Powell go if they bring a new DT on.
Romfal
Why not Pat Williams? The guy is a TRUE NT, which we haven't had since Gravy left.I think he is suspended until week 4 or
Knight of God
Nick Hayden has beast potential. 6'4" 294lbs with 34 reps of 225lbs. Kinda guy who can hold two block with the same type of quickness you expect from an undertackle DT. Just say no to Landri.
Knight of God
Walker isn't size in the middle? We need skill in the middle, not just size.
