mashedpotato
we could turn this around completely Sunday with a win over the Eagles. They are a team that has haunted us for almost a full decade and really dominated us. I believe all of Atlanta will forget what happened against the Bears if we can pull off a win against the Eagles. Honestly, there's no team I'd rather beat and probably no team I fear more. It's been that way for a while. Just the thought of beating the Eagles gets me excited. Hope is all we have now! Pick us back up Falcons cause we need this one bad!!

Carl927
The Birds weren't ready to start the season last week. We can only hope they are ready this week. The season isn't lost, but they need to gel quickly.
phattywankenobi
The Eagles got torched in the running game even when Steven Jackson went out. Turner had a good outing picking up 100 yards in only 10 carries to go with another in receiving yards.
StudentOfTheGame
I would love to beat the Eagles. If we loose I hope the boards don't explode in flames.
Miller2Rison
eh on this board if u lose one game everyone expect the team to go 0-16 if you win 1 game everyone on this board expects us to win back to back to back to back super bowls.... mashedpotato
what year was it when we were awesome and Kansas City beat us like 51 - 10? They made us look like the worst team on the planet and they were terrible. I'm hoping it was just a totally bad week.

Kno of CunninLynguists
But if we win say, 24-21 -- and the entire board acts like Week 1 never happened (which they inevitably will due to predictable over-reaction), how valid would all of this crying have been?Don't take away these people's misery with a little bit of light. Big Ben Right
our fanbase for the most part know football. we also know inconsistent performance over the years. a winning record for the season is not the goal, just a step forward. look how few teams we've dominated over the last 10 years. we worry about a win no matter who we play. we have no confidence . our team, (players and coaches) display the same attitude. if you see growth or consistenty in this group, please enlighten us. Do we have the tools, the leadership? We waiting on OUR TEAM to RISE UP! This week! this game! PLEASE!
Philadelphia76
Should be a good game, I'm obviously hoping for an Eagles win but none the less it's going to come down to a few plays here and there.

I kid, I kid. Hope you are right about this being a "good game" in terms of being competitive and perhaps being decided by one or two big plays. That would be a game well worth watching, even if the Falcons get nipped at the wire. So far we got nothing going.

I think both teams are going to come out fired up being on prime time television and the story line blah blah blah...My worry about the game is if the Eagles don't get an early lead they won't be able to attack Ryan and the Falcons will be able to slow the game down and run the rock. =abrahamburger=
I'll be there this Sunday. I want to win. However, there's this looming feeling that 2009 wasn't "goodbye." There will be plenty of loser Atlantans still cheering for Vick. Matt didn't play against Philly in 2009, but he was on the sideline. He, and the rest of the team, could hear those cheers for the Eagles. You have to know that at least one player looked up to see people in Falcons gear, cheering for Vick. That was easily the most embarrassing game I've ever been to as an Atlanta sports fan. It tops the 2003 NLDS and Cubs fans holding "Wrigley South" signs at the Ted. The Eagles gave a good reception to Donovan and after the kick off it was like he was any other qb.
