Falcon Man™
With the exception of our run defense, we played a very bad game (I know, "Thank you Capt. Obvious", right?), but I think it is unfortunate that all the blame gets placed on the QB almost all of the time with every team. I think Ryan did the best he could in most cases yesterday. He was running for his life on probably 1/3rd of the snaps! When we were running the no-huddle, Ryan was in control and we were moving the ball. MM took over and I knew AT THAT MOMENT we were doomed. What I think is most unacceptable is that the "Higher ups" (TD, AB, MS) continue to accept mediocre coaching from less than average coaches (MM, BVG). It's simply ridiculous. And don't give me that "We went 13-3 last year" CRAP either! We have never established ourselves as a team to be feared because WE DON'T TAKE CHANCES OFFENSIVELY OR DEFENSIVELY!!!This team has talent and if utilized properly, we can win the big one. I firmly believe that.It is not being utilized properly now, nor do I believe it will with MM and BVG.All that said, my hat goes off to the Bears, they played a VERY good game on both sides of the ball.I bet if Mike Martz were to think about being our OC, he would salivate himself to death thinking about having that much talent. Chris D
Other than the two turnovers (One being a throw that he never should have taken!), I thought Matt had pretty solid passing stats. It wasn't that he was afraid to throw it deep, it was that he couldn't. And not because of his arm strength. (Because I know that was a comment being ready to be made by Swift)But because the receivers were locked down. The Bears had a blanket over our receivers. Then again, we only saw the 3 receiver set 2 or 3 times the entire game. I'm still puzzled as to why we didn't see Douglas on the field. ru_serious
We had to keep putting Peele in to help with protection. They made the choice to have Gonzales on the field over Douglas most times.
tylerswinning
Matt played a great game. However, he was running for his life. When you're hit 17 times and sacked 5 times, there's a problem. Brady would not have a good game under those circumstances.
I MUS WRITE
hawley and reynold are going to get Ryan killed. 5 sacks and pressure all day. Ill give matt a pass this loss wasnt on him...oline/secondary

This is the one thing that's probably the most frustrating about the way some of these fans think. Matt Ryan helped turn around a franchise that was in the DUMPS!!! He helped to create a culture of winning and that what we expect to do as a fan base now. A lot of people take that for granted. I mean MAtt started the game like 8/8 or something like that didn't he? The man is smart and he's definitely not the problem. People are bashing him because he won't force the ball down field when the Bears D is specifically designed to stop the big pass play. Unbelievable how some people think
AMERICAN NIGHTMARE
people are acting the sky is falling. it was just one game.

Ill give matt a pass this loss wasnt on him...oline/secondaryexactly! the oline NEEDS to get better. First game's over, nothing to do about that now. If Matt has time he can check the deeper routes. WIthout time, he barely has time to check an out route. Since the oline could not block, it effected what packages we used also. We used a lot of two TE sets for more blockers, sacrificing Harry Douglass. People don't understand that this is not Matt Ryan's fault. He through for 300 yards while getting hit in the face. You guys call him soft? Vick was just lofting the ball up yesterday and getting LUCKY. You'll see next week when vick tries one of those lobs into 2 defenders. Pick 6 for Grimes all day. FalconsFanSince1969
Yes RYAN and many othersPlease get RID of BosherGet over the fact that we stooooopidlySpent a draft pick on him and GET SOMEONE WHO CAN KICK IT OUT OF THE ENDZONE since you are kicking off 5 yards closer ----JEEEEEEZZZZZZUSSSSSShe can BARELY kick it to the goal line as is and his punting........average to sub-parWhat is really maddening? The Falcons should have come out sharp- eager to put last years miserable Home playoff loss behind them They didn't. They looked ill-prepared - dazed and confusedPretty Much the same as the way they finished home playoff game last yearNo sense of urgency. No ---bad as* attitude--just plain old Falcons homogenized and pasteurized football on both ends
freebird310
What is strange is we sacked Cuntler 5 times, picked hm once, and he still walks away with a 107 rating ........ our problem is, and has always been 3rd and long when we always play soft shell ten yards off ..can't this staff see this sheet is just not working ? ........... Hashbrown3
Nobody is calling for Ryans head. If you saw this posted by anyone, then clearly they are falcon fan imposters or trolls... or both. QB is not the issue and everyone knows it. But he played like crap too. O line has to step up because Reid was watching film... It could get real bad next week before it gets better. I sure hope we turn it around though... g-dawg
its not Matt Ryan's fault that the O-Line cannot hold a block for more than 0.5 seconds
Hashbrown3
its not Matt Ryan's fault that the O-Line cannot hold a block for more than 0.5 secondsThis is a very big problem. Either they hold blocks or our entire season will be down to running the ball. This flies in the face of why we drafted Jones, Quizz, etc... But if we cannot sustain some pass blocking, then our wideouts wont have time to get deep or find seams. Therefore, we very well might be relegated to implementing our old run game, then take an occassional shot downfield off of playaction fakes on non-passing downs... Lawdy... lasher1116
Its not the players fault....they only do what the Coaches say to do....that being said, MM and BVG like last season, have not changed anything. As long as we have sub par coaches, we will have sub par results.

Everyone played solid yesterday except for the O-Line and DeCoud.
falcon22
Ryan made a couple of costly mistakes, but he was under heavy pressure all game long. I really thought he was not going to finish the game with some of the hits he took. He is a tough QB, he did not have time or WRs opened to go deep because of how the Bears were dropping people into coverage, so he was taking what was given to him with the amount of time he had to release the ball. He play solid, but the two mistakes were big momentum killers. The OL needs to pass protect better, also, we need to do apply more pressure on 3rd and longs, we do good on the first two downs then on 3rd and long play soft D and the opponents complete the 1st downs. FalconMama
Matt Ryan definitely didn't play a good game unless you count accumulating a lot of garbage time stats when the game was already decided.. I'm not saying get rid of Ryan, I love the guy but he's way too streaky for my liking. This was definitely one of his worst regular season performances.. There's plenty of blame to go around (Oline, Mularkey, BVG, defense) but he definitely had a hand in the dismantling.
Falcon Man™
Yeah the players most of the time do what the coaches say to do, however some do it ALOT better than others!
