Big Bubba
http://espn.go.com/blog/statsinfo/post/_/id/26257/cam-newton-shatters-records-in-debutIt took Newton all of one game to have 422 passing yards, while the list of notable quarterbacks to never throw for that many yards in a game is like a Hall of Fame roll call. Terry Bradshaw, Tom Brady, Jim Kelly, Bart Starr and Fran Tarkenton never threw for that many yards in a single game in their NFL careers.Dating back to 1960, only three players have had more passing yards in a season opener: Dan Marino, Kurt Warner and Peyton Manning. Those players have combined for seven Associated Press MVP awards. Not bad. Even if he looks like a rookie the rest of the year, and has a dismal year, like Peyton had (since he's on the list), his rookie year... At least he has the start of something to hang his hat on, until he gets wins.

koolkat
Not to mention we're talking about a rookie QB who had to deal with a lockout. No Ota's No Mini camp. He has only been practiceing for a month and a week. :o
jungleking
I'm pretty happy already. The offense looks functional and that's a step up from last year. The pass rush shouldn't be as bad as was feared, although our coverage and run-stopping ability should be pretty bad, especially with Beason out. I think the offense could actually win us some games this year. Not many, but it's looking up.
