itsjustafleshwound
Unfortunately, it may be Richt's last year. Unfortunately, such sentiment may be justified. On the other hand, I don't mind the spread any more. Bobo actually did a good job today. His inconsistency will likely rear its head in the next game and cost Richt his job; however, when we mixed up our offense today, I was highly impressed. Whether next season opens up with Mullen or Richt, I think we have the foundations to a great offense (pray we hold on to Theus).

I would keep those to a minimum until the o-line gets a grasp of it because they still don't have a clue when it comes to zone blocking. I like using the spread for passing and I love keeping the I formation as well.
theDIRTYcode
Is it really a true spread though if you use a power running game and a shotgun 3+ WR set? When I think of a true "spread offense" everything is done from shotgun with 3+ receivers. These last 3 years our offense has been fine, it's the defense that's been sh!t, so we go out and try to change our offense

It was far less predictable and it worked. We scored 35 points on the #12 team in the nation.

Unless you're talking about strictly running from the I and passing from the gun, then that's just telegraphing every play. I could be off here, I stepped into this thread expecting a Meyer UF offense discussion, lol.

I think that the offense incorporated large elements of the spread while maintaing UGA's identity (Power I). Would you rather have this offense or the offense that we saw against UCF? The elements of the spread that I love is what New England, Green Bay, and New Orleans are doing with it. In fact, I love what Boise does with it, and would love to see Peterson bring it with him if we could get him.
