Durrtay
So Manning had another surgery and it's going to be months for recovery. Sounds like a W against Indy for once. Your thoughts?
Carl927
I had us winning before hearing this, so it's more of a "meh."

g-dawg
If I was Peyton Manning, I would "shut it down" for 2011 and come back next year. or retire altogether - too much life to live to take the chance of becoming invalid with the wrong hit.....maybe an overreaction but think about it - dream life so far and more money than he can spend in 10 lifetimes......obviously football is part of "who he is" but you gotta think about your family first. Northern_Falcon
Chalk it up just like you did with Pittsburgh last year!Come on man, nothing is a guarantee in the NFL. Lets worry about Chicago first Edited September 8, 2011 by Northern_Falcon
Durrtay
yea i'm an indy fan basically because of peyton so i hope he gets better, but i don't believe the colts will do too much this year now.
rightsaidfred
So Manning had another surgery and it's going to be months for recovery. Sounds like a W against Indy for once. Your thoughts? The piece I saw on Garrard this morning painted a little different picture of him. Said that by moving up to draft Gabbart it was the plan to replace DG at some point during the season, and they actually cut his $8.1 M. But then they also said that he was looking really bad in practice and possibly had some lingering injuries. What does this have to do with the OP? Garrard would be a better fit in IND than Collins - provided he's healthy. What does this have to do with the Falcons? Facing the Colts with Garrard would be a lot tougher than with Collins. If Peyton should be back - still tougher...................

Finally
That is not really good news. Manning is the kind of QB we needed to measure our defense against to fine tune it for a potential playoff run. That game was in a pretty ideal spot on our schedule too. This could be a career ender too. Wow.
g-dawg
yeah neck injuries forced his brother to stop playing. he's already established his legacy and won a ring.yep, on top of it, i could be personally a little sensitive to this situation right now - just found out my 2nd cousin - who is like 23yrs old - was in a motorcycle accident yesterday and the prognosis is he may not have full movement of his extremeties going foward - keeping him in my prayers.I just think its a big risk for Peyton going foward. Durrtay
yea would hate for it to end his career and i agree with it being a good way to measure our team but hey we still got brees and rodgers to do that with

Not saying we couldn't beat Manning on the road - but it would be a tall task indeed. Given our schedule and the competitive nature of the NFC, the Colts victory(assuming we get it) could be difference between making playoffs or not. Tandy
I really hate to hear that. He's a class act and means a lot to the NFL in general.I hope he's ok - but most of all, he has to take care of himself first. My thoughts & prayers with you Peyton - recover swiftly. As for our game - I hope we have the caliber of team that can go in and play against a teams starters with an opportunity to win.I will say this though - I would bet that there is a lot of pressure on Schaub now. Your thoughts?we played them in 2007 and 2003 last and those are the only recent times so it has no bearing on the game this yearin the GA dome we could beat them as long as we're healthy any time in the last 3 years imo..in Indy its different thoughso he won't be able to play vs Atlanta? Farmer2
Living in Indy I'm pretty happy to hear all this. I'm looking forward to seeing my Falcons live this year in Indy and so far tickets in Lucas Oil are ridiculous. $150/seat in the nose bleeds. I'm thinking by week 9 I'll be getting a 50% off discount.
