IrishFalco
If we don't go out and clobber the Bears defense, I expect a lot of people to start jumping off the bandwagon. And if we lose, this board might just explode.I say we keep things in perspective. Putting up crappy numbers against a stellar defense but pulling out a win is just as sweet as any other win. Losing shouldn't sting as much either. No shame in losing to a playoff team with an elite defense. We learn from our mistakes and we will get better.Personally, I expect us to crush the Bears. But I won't be suprised if we just win in a squeaker.
ryanATL88
is win is a win to me but i want us to make a statement by winning by atleast 2 touchdowns. I would not be disappointed with a last second field goal win. Now if lose i will be pissed because we are an overall better team.

FalconMama
Should we lose on Sunday which I doubt it would suck.. Beat the Eagles and it's all forgotten.
PokerSteve
I agree. I expect a win by at least 10 points, but I also realize this could be a game won or lost by a last-second field goal.It would definitely be nice to dominate this team, but that hope has to be tempered by the realization the Bears were a play-off caliber team last year, they have an excellent defense and they have handled us on their home field. If we lose, hopefully the game won't look like our loss to GB in the play-offs, where we looked like the Falcons of old... The Birdwatcher
I agree it would be nice to dominate in a win, but as long as we win. The Eagles and Andy Reid have always presented match up problems for us so to go into week 2 with a loss would be tough.

NCFalconfan
Winning on the road is a tough task in the NFL. I'll be happy even if we win by shear luck on a fluke play up there.

84White32Quizz
Remember last year? we lost to the Steelers and all kinds of pots talking about how we would lose to the cardinals and then have to go to New Orleans and be 0-3.Well we all saw how that turned out. The fact is I never expect for us not to lose, I mean its going to happen at some point in time, but as long as there are games the next wekk we will be fine. 84White32Quizz
Lets also remember, one of the goals Mike Smith stated back in 08 was, good teams dont lose back to back games.Well we have lost back to back games 3 times and they all happened in 09 when we were a battered and bruised team.We may lose vs the Bears, but as history shows when this team is healthy it will be very unlikely that we lose to the Eagles also. We have new pieces and high expectations, so the disappointment factor is going to be high if we don't just beat everyone down. It's going to be on our defense to step up and play much better than in years past. If anything, I'd like to see BVG step it up and get more creative and to coach these guys up for every opponents schemes. To me BVG is the weak link. Carl927
I want to see the team start clicking on both sides of the ball. If I don't see greatness, I want to glimpse it. A "W" would be great - any way it comes. I expect a win.If the worst-case happens and the Falcons lose, I want to take something positive going forward. DavyDmx
Only the TRUE FANS of this team will accept a victory tainted or not in other people's minds because they know that rather you win pretty or ugly it still counts as a WIN
kschreck
After we lost to the Steelers last year some were just about giving up on the season already. No matter how much sense you try to talk into people there are some who will refuse to believe anything short of this team being overrated and incapable of having a successful season. Smiler11
You sound like a wise man. I remember last year against the Steelers (minus big ben), this board went crazy.1st game of the season is always tough, let alone playing on the road against a playoff team with a good defense after a shortened offseason. On paper I'd say we're a lot more talented than the Bears and we should win this easily, but games aren't won on paper and super bowls aren't handed out in week 1.
