The teams that execute best versus him are the teams that do what they do (best).” Falcons RapidReports1 minute ago - by Knox Bardeen - Reynolds won RG position with effortOffensive Coordinator Mike Mularky on why OL Garrett Reynolds won the position battle at right guard: “Garrett Reynolds has done absolutely everything we’ve asked from him and more. He did not mention how much playing time Hayden would receive or exactly what his role would be. It’s likely he’ll split time at nickel back with CB Dominique Franks and/or CB Christopher Owens. Falcons RapidReports 20 minutes ago - by Knox Bardeen - Mughelli on the lookout for UrlacherFB Ovie Mughelli said he’s going to make sure he’s prepared for Chicago LB Brian Urlacher, as well as the rest of the Bears defense. Mughelli thinks Urlacher makes everyone around him better and he’ll have something to prove to naysayers who think he’s lost a step. Falcons RapidReports 20 minutes ago - by Knox Bardeen - Mughelli says rookies need to beware of roadFB Ovie Mughelli said starting the season on the road is no big deal for veterans. But it could be harder for the rookies: “For the younger guys being on the road first could be a distraction -- flights, hotels, different locker rooms, those things can distract you if you don’t have your stuff straight.” Falcons RapidReportshttp://www.cbssports.com/nfl/rapid-reports/team/ATL

since68andcounting
If we punt to Hester we will get what we deserve...a 7 point deficit. They're crazy if they plan on punting to this guy. Put the kickoffs in the end zone and the punts to the corner. Period. Don't be cocky and stupid. This brings up another point...I'm not so nuts about our special teams coach. Has anyone noticed that our seeming lack of ability to consistently cover kicks/punts directly coincided with the last change in ST coaches? FA91
^^ Not something I'd make a huge wager on.On one of the last KO's, if not the last against the Ravens, Bosher sailed it. I realized he probably had been told to keep the ball in play to check out the ST guys.I don't think he'll have a problem.
FalconFanSince1970
We were an absolute beast in coverage in 2008, I really want to know what happened.Koenan was nailing some high 45 yarders in 2008. He slipped a little the next couple years but still got his kick offs in the end zone. He was a touch back demon last year.Bosher seems to be a decent punter but his kick offs might be a little suspect in an Illinois wind. theProf
Did anyone think it was strange that the Falcons stated that Hayden would be ready to go in week 1, but no mention whatsoever of Sanders? CB is evidently much more of a concern to the Falcons than S.
swift
Rookie Jacquizz Rodgers is fourth on the Falcons' depth chart at tailback entering Week 1.Jason Snelling will resume third-down duties while backing up Michael Turner against the Bears this week. Rodgers is also behind Antone Smith. The fifth-rounder is unlikely to see more than a few carries a game as a change-of-pace option early in the season. CB is evidently much more of a concern to the Falcons than S.With our safeties pretty much concrete(for now at least), Sanders won't be needed as much game one. Hayden could be a difference maker in two positions and I think it speaks for the lack of confidence in Owens and Franks. Thank God it's Chicago week one! CB is evidently much more of a concern to the Falcons than S.It's a little easier to get up to speed playing corner. Especially nickel. A lot of man and hook curl or flat zones. Your coverage is what others play off as opposed to being the safety, you play to back up the corners and linebackers in zone. Even if he doesn't get the zone schemes, he knows how to play man. CB is evidently much more of a concern to the Falcons than S.Well, correct me if im wrong, but wasnt Hayden having some health issues that was a concern for him even being in the game?? So in that sense, while Sanders was healthy, they didnt need to mention him because he was already known to play in the game, where as Hayden was questionable at the time so mentioning him saying he was likely to play, is more significant

So in that sense, while Sanders was healthy, they didnt need to mention him because he was already known to play in the game, where as Hayden was questionable at the time so mentioning him saying he was likely to play, is more significantIt is true that Hayden is coming off an end of the year IR season, and I understand your point. However, I don't think that injuries or the lack thereof are playing into the Falcons DB situation, as both are now medically cleared to play. Atlanta needs Hayden to play NCB much more and sooner than they need Sanders to play S. Hayden is being pressed into playing as soon as possible, due to an apparent lack of complete confidence in Owens/Franks.On the other hand, Sanders can be eased into playing due to lack of urgency in subbing for or possibly replacing DeCoud/Moore. I think that we will see Hayden playing much sooner than we will see Sanders playing. Hayden might get significant playing time in game 1, whereas Sanders might not get significant playing time until game 3 or 4. Now if the Falcons begin publishing reports that Sanders will be ready to play in game 1, then my theory might be wrong, and I'll need to reread the tea leaves. To me it looked like he was holding back because he rarely followed through past his waist.

They worked his izz off against the Pittsburgh defense picking up blitzes. He definitely earned some stripes that game. He will see time, you can count on that.
