J-Wall
The Bears game could basically be for a wildcard spot(I believe the division is ours but....) if not these games always have huge implications at the end of the year. Same with the Eagles games(Giants win that division) we really need to start fast and keep our foot on the gas and not let up. Not to mention we play the Bucs week 3 and I'm still not a believer they'll be as good as last year but then again who knows. Im confident that the Falcons will be ready. Thoughts??? Thoughts???Totally disagree...After losing 31-27 on December 19, 2010 at Gillette Stadium to the New England Patriots the Packers record was 8-6....Many people were writing them off in terms of even making the playoffs....They were racking up injured players on IR....How'd that turn out?You don't ever give up on or disregard your team's chances of making the playoffs until they're mathematically eliminated.Last year's Packer season should be an example of that for everyone. swift
If we start 0-2 we can be in for a long season . This team has shown they hasnt face that much adversity outside Packers playoff game and team just folded and 2nd half didnt respond . Who knows we start 0-2 then some doubt creeps in . Falcons are a good football team but they might not be great nor have mental toughness to bounce back after that playoff lossWe start 0-2 heading into Tampa. Peyton
Nah.The Falcons lost their opener last year, then lost their last big game of the year too.Still managed to secure that number 1 seed.If the Falcons lose their first two, then go 11-3, which is doable, the Falcons will be in and the first two games won't matter. Hoppy™
You are getting way too carried away, homie.... 2 games are 2 games... Nothing more, nothing less...I've been saying it for weeks now: The first 6 weeks of the season are ridiculously tough.... The last 10 are relatively a breeze.... I've said that I would not be the least bit surprised to see the Falcons start this season 3-3 or even 2-4 and still have no problem winning 10 or 11 games.... But rest assured that if the Falcons do not start 6-0, the drama queens will be organizing mass suicides and calling for TD's head.... ATL fans just love to panic like that....Due to the extremely top-heavy schedule, and the fact that some very key players are playing their first year in our system (Julio, Edwards, Hayden, Sanders), I expect this to be a team that is not quite firing on all cylinders coming out of the starting gate, but one which will be playing "lights out" football by the end of the season...You can never say that an entire season is riding on the first two games, especially when those two games are not even divisional match-ups....Even if the Falcons start the season 0-2 (which I certainly hope is NOT the case), I will not be ready to panic and neither should you...Look no further than last year's GB Packers to see the importance of playing your best football in December and January....I think the Falcons will be playing their best ball in December and January as well.... Last year we had a patty wack schedule this year proves to be much tougher. We will not go 13-3 this year 11-5 is my guess. If the Falcons lose their first two, then go 11-3, which is doable, the Falcons will be in and the first two games won't matter.

FalconFanSince1970
I honestly believe at least 96.7% of the Falcon Nation is taking the Bear game much too lightly. Lest not forget:-They won their division in 2010-They played in the NFCCG-They played the Packers much closer than we did in the playoffs-They gave us all we wanted in our last two meetings-This is their home opener-It's hard to win on the road-Their front seven will give ShakyBaker and the two virtual rooks problems-Cutler is not as bad as many claim he isThe PHI game will be a circus. The media will overhype it. Daddy's Home and the real Eaglet trolls will stir up the natives to no end. The Dome will be filled with transient Eaglets, traveling Eaglets and at least 10,000 Vickies. It will feel like a road game. Our defense will probably be tested.I also think many are underating the Sucs. This is a division game, which is always tough. The Sucs are an up and coming team in my opinion. Ever since buddy took the defensive reigns over they have played much better. They have as many weapons on offense as we do. That game is also on the road. The first three games could be trouble. Hopefully we win at least two. If we win one or get swept, we could have a long uphill battle trying to get what we need. Rest. vel
I honestly believe at least 96.7% of the Falcon Nation is taking the Bear game much too lightly. Lest not forget:-They won their division in 2010I don't put too much into that. The Packers were sinking fast with injuries until Rodgers put them on his back and prayed for a chance at the playoffs-They played in the NFCCGWasn't hard to beat the Seahawks. The same could have been said had we played them.-They played the Packers much closer than we did in the playoffsThey are built to play the NFC North just like we are to play the NFC South. Our games with the Saints are always close. Same situation.-They gave us all we wanted in our last two meetingsYes but we have gotten considerably better than when our team was in their 1st and 2nd years together. Bears haven't gotten much better since then in my opinion-This is their home opener-It's hard to win on the roadVery true. These two things are being underestimated.-Their front seven will give ShakyBaker and the two virtual rooks problemsI don't know how much their LBs will be able to blitz with the weapons we have now. Their corners aren't that good to leave in 1v1 against Roddy, Julio, AND HD with Tony on a LB. I don't expect many yards on the ground though. But if they can contain Peppers to an extent, the other 3 on the line aren't that good.-Cutler is not as bad as many claim he isHe isn't bad but he is easily shaken up and can run hot and cold in the same game. If our front four get to him early and often, the game should be manageable. His weapons are a joke. Knox is the best one in my opinion (51 catches, 960 yards last year) and he is looking like the 4th WR right now behind Williams, Hester, and Bennett. Of those three, Bennett is the most consistent. Williams is Jenkins and Hester won't beat you. They got rid of the wild card in Olsen, who could hurt us the most. Forte is dangerous but if we let him beat us, we deserve to lose. But the way BVG has been sending blitzes, the OLine won't hold up all game and Cutler will get hit.But I agree, a lot of people are overlooking this game. I am one of them. I don't think the Bears are that good and that our offense should beat their defense and I see their offense as a joke in Martz' scheme. Now I am not screaming for a blowout or 30 points. But I see a win. This isn't the Steelers game without Julio and HD playing out of position post injury nor the Steelers' D. Snyder56racing
I look for the first couple games for all 32 teams to be sloppy due to obvious reasons..but after a few games everything will start clicking and we could be a real force on both sides of the ball.....i dont see philys defense clicking in time for the wk 2 game against us
