Buc youngest team in the NFL

We've discussed this over and over.....who has the youngest team.

Well read below for that answer heading into the 2011 season. It might surprise quite a few Falcon fans who've been beating the young age drum that, in-fact, their team is the 5th oldest team in the NFL.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are poised to have the NFL’s youngest roster when the regular season kicks off.

According to this chart (which was based on moves as of Saturday night) by NFC West colleague Mike Sando, the Bucs are young in every area. They have the youngest offense, defense and specialists, and that pretty much assures them of staying as the league’s youngest team on opening day, unless they go out and sign a bunch of 40-year-olds.

The Carolina Panthers aren’t far behind the Bucs. They are the league’s third-youngest team. After the Bucs and Panthers there’s a big gap before the Saints and Falcons.

When it comes to New Orleans and Atlanta, we’ll put them in terms of how they rank among the league’s oldest teams. The Saints are No. 16. The Atlanta Falcons are No. 5 among the league’s oldest teams.

Atlanta hasn't been the youngest ,or near youngest , team for years, but Falcon fans keep saying they are young for some reason ( falcologic)

Its not falconlogic

Its FACT

If you average out the starting 22 we are one of the younger teams in the nfl.

I know you jack holes don't want to admit it and want to think our window closes this year but the REALITY of it is that it doesn't.

The falcons starting offense even with 31 year old Ovie and 34 year old Gonzo still averages just 27 years of age.

The saints starting offense

averages 28 years of age

On defense it looks better for the saints averaging 27 years of age

That is only slightly older then the falcons ( it is close enough to call it a wash when you round down for hte saints and round up for the falcons)

So the falcons starting 22 averages about a year younger total then the saints.

So in the words of Eric O'Flaherty,Jonny Venters,Craig Kimbrel who are the braves awesome trio in the bullpen.

Sit down......shut up......and go home

5th oldest team.

FACT: one of the youngest starting 22s in the nfl.

In fact the falcons starting 22 is younger then the cowboys too.

And please do not post pictures of your uncle who may have been mean to you when you were younger in the cabin in the woods.... it is ok to let those feelings go no need to torture yourself by posting those pictures.

As of right now Hawley is our starting center.

When that changes that projection will change...If he plays well that may not change.

But it still will bring the falcons starting 11 on offense to under 28.

But close enough to it where I would round that up.

So we have veteran depth with young pro bowlers. Sounds like a good mix to me.

Pretty much.

The only 2 really "old guys" who will see significant time are Abe and Gonzo.

If Hawley struggles Mcclure will be back in but if he plays well I think the era of Mcclure as a starter is over.

Incorrect.......

Saints STARTING lineup on Offense = 27.18

Saints STARTING lineup on Defense = 26.45

Average for Offensive and Defensive starters combined = 26.81

Try again next time and know who the starters are. Your website link sucked.

Sit down, shut up and go home.
