I Even Bleed Red
I have a buddy, Warren, who is a faithful Carolina Panthers' fan. He's a cool guy...he'd be cooler if he wasn't a Pantie lover I live in a place where not too many people discuss the NFC south, so a Panthers' fan or not, it's nice to have him around for these talks. Anyway, he and I got to talking about the NFC south. He said that he would be shocked if the Falcons didn't get into Superbowl this year after the additions we made this off-season. He said that after the addition of Julio Jones and Ray Edwards (btw, he was so shocked at how cheap we got Edwards after the Panthers threw so much money at C. Johnson), only the Packers can stand in the way of us and the Superbowl. Not even the "Dream Team" Eagles because according to him "Vick has never played a full season and it is inevitable that he will get hurt midway through the season. And with another fragile QB like Vince Young as back up, who is already injured, the Eagles' season will crumble." He was also shocked to learn that Mike Smith is thus far winless against the Eagles and said that will change this year. He knows his football, so I hope he's right. This is just some insight into what rival teams' fans think of our Falcons because the Falcons' fans talking just amongst themselves can easily lose perspective. Therefore, a fresh point of view is sometimes a much needed reset.

I think everyone's kind of picking up on what the falcons are doing. All those years I've been screaming for the falcons to get respect, now that everyone's on the wagon, I wish they'd shut up about em. harveybirdman
Well to see where Matt Ryan is going in fantasy football Mock drafts today, I would think that everyone at least thinks our offense will be awesome.
The_Dude
The Falcons ain't flyin under the radar... Everybody knows about em'. Philly is horrible against interior blitzes and they can't pound the run or stop the run. Theyre going to rack up Ws in the regular season and wilt quickly thereafter. Snowen
Yeh I think everyone knows its either the Packers or Falcons to get to the superbowl this season.. The Packers being the "safe pick" and the Falcons being #2 if we can figure out how to unseed them this time around. The "dream team" is looking like the Miami Heat, people know its going to take more than 4 weeks of practice for them to "gel" together as a team and it will probably be too late in their season to make it to the playoffs after the bad start, even then like your friend said, Vick is fragile and gonna miss some time. But I really think it comes down to Packers vs Falcons in the playoffs, weither thats the wildcard or NFC Champ game, whoever wins that pretty much gets a free walk to the superbowl. I actually said that last year too, cause lets face it the Bears/Saints/Seahawks were walkovers also. Hope this year is gonna be different! Miller2Rison
hard for me to say who goes to the super bowl at this point, i still worry about our defense bc of the horrible tackling. Our D lookes great against the steelers in the season opener last year and my sb pick last year was a steelers-falcons over time thriller (with the steelers winning unfortunatly) but the packers came in and kept the falcons from going there and kept the steelers from winning it. I'm usually pretty good at picking the sb teams but i have to see how teams are looking in week 3 or 4 before i can make a good guess. i picked the colts-saints, patriots-giants, and i made a last minute bet that the colts would beat the bears bc of how their defense stepped it up in the playoffs. Regardless of my football knowledge i will root for the falcons to go 16-0 and win the sb every year.

I see falcons fans still cant keep Vicks name out of their mouth? lol more proof he will always be more relevant than Ryan. The falcons will continue to lose to the Eagles it wont change. WE OWN YOU. Better overall team. Andy 8-1 against the falcons. You havent beat him since you had Vick. You havent won a playoff game since you had Vick. Dream on. Saint55
I love the fact that for some reason the Saints seem to be flying under the radar! Eagles made a lot of pickups this offseason, but I think the Saints got better quality and better fits out of their signings. I think our offense got better with Sproles, Ingram, and Kreutz, and we were already one of the best offenses in the league. Brees now has 3 pro-bowl o-line protecting him. But I like it. I like nobody talking about the Saints As for my take on the Falcons (which has about as much credibility of a dead cow)...dang good team. I'd rank you 3rd best in the NFC...but only because I don't think the defense has quite enough to stop offenses like the Packers or Saints. Maybe Sanders and Hayden help change that. Does your offense have what it takes to go toe-to-toe in a shootout? The falcons will continue to lose to the Eagles it wont change. WE OWN YOU. Better overall team. Can't win a game on paper. Bunch of new players don't mean squat for chemistry and synergy. And to be honest, you're only real pickup of note was Nnamdi...the rest were average players. We then held New Orleans to a reasonable 24 points in another game. What are you talking about ? Every where Brees goes, Brent Grimes follows.
