Jp7833
The person I have been most impressed with in our secondary this pre-season has been Darrin Walls. I watched him in college and if he hadnt been injury plagued late in his college career, I think he would have been a 3rd-4th round draft pick. Anyways, we know how that went. We got him in the UFA pool and he has been busting his *** ever since. He is really the only bubble player that I really want to make this team. I'd rather have him over Owens, however, I still think Franks has some good upside/potential. Perhaps we keep Robinson/Grimes/Hayden/Owens/Franks/Walls? Man that would be great, maybe they'll cut JPW and we can just roll with Ryan/Redman/Meier (in-case of emergency, and at that point, we'd just be handing the ball off anyways)I love that we signed Hayden because we really needed to address the issues in our secondary, however, I really think Walls could turn out to be a stud somewhere down the line. Do you think he makes the team?
Jp7833
bump because I care about this topic and it is being lost in the wake of Arthur's divorce among other topics. No one has an opinion on walls?
Sipifalcon
its hard to say... I think we keep him and cut Owens for some reason, Owens has had his chances... On to the next one...
Jeff_Hawkins
Owens will make like Chevis and be cut before year 3.

Geneaut
It's going to come down between Walls and Owens in my book. I didn't think TD would cut Chevis Regal, but he did. He's not to proud to cut mistakes if he needs to.
Falkonator
I hope we keep walls, as he has impressed me the most this preseason, had good coverage and seems like he gas ball skills, just need to develop and gain experiene, with that said I believe he does make Tue squad over Owens or shillinger
vel
I think Walls is PS bound. Despite how the MB feels, Owens had a solid PS and didn't give up many plays. Both Hayden and Robinson are bound for an injury. Would you want Franks and Walls as the ones behind you? I wouldn't. Franks gave up a lot of plays this preseason and isn't ready JUST yet. Walls is high risk high reward if you make him the 5th corner, barring injury. Owens was steady, and won't make many plays but won't give up many (going off this year not last). *I haven't seen the BMore game yet so I don't know how his performance was in that game compared to Franks and Walls. sharky
The way it's looking now, seems like Walls will be on the practice squad. Hayden gets his spot, and schillinger will probably be released in favor of Sanders. Edited September 2, 2011 by sharky
gHost83
I hope we keep Walls and drop Owens... The only thing he has on the other DBs is his familiarity with the scheme BVG runs. But just imagine our DB depth without Owens... Hayden, Walls and Franks are all 6' tall. It's always nice to have size (that's what she said, lol). DonDaLuvMaker
I really hope that Owens starts to become the type of cb that he showed flashes of in his rookie year. I also think that Walls could actually be a very good cover corner for the Falcons and that they should give him a chance to prove so this season because in this day in the NFL a team can never have to many good corners due to plenty of teams being 4 or 5 deep with very good quality receivers. coachx
Falcons have 10 DBs on the roster now. Once Hayden and Sanders catch on we will probably see a DB get cut.
