Not Really! He got trucked a couple of times. If he cannot pass block will he be an Achilles heal? Teams may recognize he's in the game and prepare for the run.

WTF are you talking about ? that statement makes zero sense whatsoever, and he looked pretty good pass blocking what I saw ....

Wow I didn't know I was talking to the board of Idiots. If Turner is in the game the other team know it's a run. How many times did we throw on 1st down against Pitt?

It is obvious you clowns never played the game at any level. So go ahead make yourselves feel better by telling me to make sense, when neither of you clowns realize what you're talking about or what's going on schematically.

i agree, he doesnt have great leverage when blocking, he turns sideways alot and gets blowed backwards. go back and watch again. he runs the ball great, and would be great in screen plays, but i'm not sold on his pass protection yet either.

I am not a Chicken Little. Quizz did a great job running the ball. However the truth remains, he will be a liability when pass blocking. Perhaps Blank can ask Dunn to give Quizz a few lessons on leverage and using your lower extremities when blocking.

I agree that from what I have seen, Quizz is weak on pass blocking. The guy is 5'6" though so no matter how strong he is - he won't ever be a great blocker - just too small - this helps him as a runner though so we have to take the good w/ the bad.

Having said that, Quizz can be in on 3rd down and either run, flank out as receiver or catch a screen pass so it does not mean the playbook will be totally predictable - plus, while he may never be a good passblocker - he will get better and at least maybe be adequate at some point.

Can a RB cut block or is it just the lineman. That's always an option. However, you just don't see too many RBs doing it.

Of course. All a cut block is is taking a mans legs out from under him . Like Dunn used to do to people ALL the time ... as long as the defender is not engaged with someone else...

I think Quizz looked good. His pass blocking does need to improve a bit but taking into account that he's a rookie I think he's doing great at it. In his post game interview he said that he is going to work on his pass blocking too so I know it'll get better. Really excited at all the potential he brings to the table.

i dont think he's too small, just doesnt know how to get up under and explode up on a lineman. emmitt wasnt big and he could block, even with a bad shoulder, so could Sanders and Dunn. they'll teach him, and of course there is cut blocking, but the play i saw the Dlineman was engauged, so a cutblock would have drawn a flag.

And yet he still leads all Falcon running backs in yards per carry. How is that?

I'd rather see Quizz do that. If he does, he'll be fine. But oddly enough, Quizz's blocking style didn't lead to a sack or even a hurry that I can remember. So until that happens, I'll say that his style is okay for now with the understanding he's gotta get better at pass protection.

I saw him holding his own when he was out there, even with most of Pitts first string D still on the field. guy is just so tough, he will do what it takes, I mean yea, he's never gonna be a monster blocker, but I feel he will be capable to get by like Dunn did ....

I agree. Especially since he's not the starting RB. If he was, he'd be required to block much more. I'm happen with Quizz and the offense.

he will learn and get better pass blocking in good time. from the little he has played he has impressed me. our offense can go to a whole other level as he gets more comfortable and they create packages for him. im excited to see him progress

....and you know why? Because he's a competitor and he's not gonna like seeing those push backs on film. ;)

Quizz looked really good running the ball. His pass blocking is going to need to improve. He did see hime get push back at least twice.

My point exactly. I know Quizz is a change of pace back to Turner and Snelling. He's excellent in tight spaces. I was inspired to see him creating runs with his speed and agility.

That said, he will have to work on his pass blocking. I read that he plans to get better. I'm cool with that.

14 passes on 1st down in the first half alone.

I'd like to see the overall number of passes inside the 5 yard line. I can remember atleast 4 with 3 of those being consequtively. Is the play by play up on NFL.com?

EDIT:

I went and looked. Turns out that it was 5 pass plays from atleast Pitts 5 yard line. 3 plays from the 5; 2 plays from the 2...in one half.
