Im ok with the trolls that come each week from the seperate teams and stay for just that one week til the game is over and then never come back again, they are annoying but least its only for afew days. If they make like 4-5 offensive posts, they should be banned also.. but its generally not that bad.

The thing that IS bad, is the trolls that literally make a new thread with an agenda every SINGLE day for 365 days a year, like swift, daddys, SAINT*ANGER, etc. Those people, really need to be banned, they are more than a weekly annoyance. Not to mention, actually posing as Falcons fans and still bashing us, where as other fans who bash us representing another team (understandable). Those people should be banned, it really makes these boards almost untolerable.

I'm not siding with any of you, but there needs to be Mods present on a forum with this many members. Only popular board I've ever been on without them. Weird.

this is true, but honestly a lot of the "trolls" are just pessimists who are dubbed trolls by the homers of the board. A lot of times you cant say anythign negative without getting negged into oblivion. We need more active Mods, and this has been asked millions of time, but every time we get more mods, they never show up.

edit: I dont mind the opposing fans or even good trolls, but these crusty trolls like dtan get annoying because they suck.

Read the Code of Conduct. There's NOTHING in it that says you have to like the Falcons, nothing that says you can't bash them, talk trash about them, and/or otherwise act like a 12 year old idiot with an agenda.

The mods didn't write the CoC. They are simply charged with enforcing it and they do that the best they can.

There is no mod scouring these boards 24-7 looking for CoC violations and it would be impossible for anyone to read every single post in every single thread doing so. If you see violations, use the Report function at the bottom left of every post and report it. Don't expect immediate action as there may not be a mod logged on at the time to take appropriate measures.

Stop blaming the mods. It's not their fault.

for people that just joined the forum today. most trolls are from other teams that come the week we play them. so say at least a minumum of 1 month being a member before posting

I have lived in Atlanta for over 30 years; but i just joined the boards recently. I have a button that says i can not start a new thread. How do people that just joined get to start threads?

You have to have 100 post before you can start a thread. This was implemented last season to help eliminate spamming and control trolling.

Theres a difference between "pessimists" and people who make a new thread every single day using some un-important stat specifically to bash our team. For example, today someone just made a thread how "We gave up 77 points in 3 preseason games, only 2 teams in history did worse, therefor 0-16 is staring us in the face"..

Or how about every thread swift makes, where he'll find one specific stat that has no meaning at all, and uses it to proclaim Vince Young is better than Matt Ryan, or something stupid like that.. Or how about him saying "Ray Edwards is Ed Hartwell of 2011".. That is trolling.

I often vocalize my displeasure with MM and BVG, which is just obvious to anyone who is intelligent in football.. but I support our TEAM, I am not in the gameday threads saying "OMG we didnt score a touchdown on every drive and catch every single ball thrown in a preseason game, therefor 0-16 is staring us in the face!" like people do here.

I posted this the other day, when this same topic was brought up:

What's the deal with the ignore feature these days? It used to be so perfect... someone was trolling, you just clicked a button and ignored them. Now, I have to go to my profile, type in their name, and half the time they don't even show up. Take the hopeless twit who's trolling this thread for example, sadly the apostrophe in his name doesn't register in the ignore feature, so he doesn't show up.

It's BS to tell people to just ignore them, when that function is totally flawed. The mods either need to get that fixed, or start actually being real mods and IP banning some of these lowlifes. I understand that you want to be fair and not everybody's going to agree with everything the team does. Those opinions certainly have a right to be heard, as they can often lead to good discussions. But that is far from what we are talking about here. There are people blatantly posting negative garbage with the sole purpose of getting others bent out of shape. Those people are not contributing anything to the boards, and need to be dealt with.

I remember several years ago, there was a pretty heavy mod presence on these boards at all times, Rev ,Banker, Shiney, Sac, etc. One of those guys was almost always on the boards. Now, I can't say that they actually did a better job then... I think someone hit the nail on the head when they mentioned that they mostly didn't bother to do anything until something actually became a personal issue for themselves... but at least there was a presence of some mods around here. Maybe those guys got burned out, I dunno... most seemed more interested with their pseudo-celebrity board status of being called a mod than actually doing the job of a board moderator anyway... but for whatever reason, they just are not around as much anymore. Maybe it's time we got some new people on the job... the kind of people who will actually do the job this time.

I don't mean to disrespect any of the mods here personally, they all seem like good human beings, but as someone who's been active on the boards for over ten years, I have seen next to nothing done to improve this particular issue. In the NFL, and most other areas in life, when the job continues to not get done, you make a move to put the people in place to get the job done. We need a little more Matt Bryant from these mods and a lot less Jason Elam.

its getting really old im just tired of it. why do we let people post with no history? people make comments that have just signed up the week we play a team.

I am not sure how they get to post with less than 100 posts. I have been reading for years (and posting every once in a while), am a season ticket holder, and LOVE me some falcons and I can't start a post until I hit 100.
