ATL vs PIT Observations

We are 26th in the league in rushing after 3 pre-season games. Matt Ryan

and J.P. Wilson lead the team in longest runs from scrimmage. The reason

a QB on this team is running at all is to keep from getting killed.

We abandoned the run against the Steelers because they shut it down.

So far our running game has not gotten established. Spin it if you want.

Pass Defense is a key ingredient in playing winning football in the NFL.

I have never even heard of Brown the suddenly all world wideout for the Steelers.

He looked like a man among boys. I was shocked. Spin it if you want.

We need to quickly get serious about playing focused, winning football.

This has been shabby and as Matt Ryan said about our red zone offense we

need to "tidy it up a bit".

Nobody here has ever suggested that we've played perfect thus far this preseason. However, we have no reason to believe those issues won't get ironed by Week 1 of the regular season and it's certainly no reason for the widespread panic.

The good I have seen from the Falcons give me great optimism for this season. But no one is suggesting that you turn a blind eye to the bad. The only team I know of that has had a perfect season in the NFL is the '72 Dolphins. The Falcons don't need to be perfect in every area to become champions.

And of Antonio Brown, those were fluke plays that I, nor should anyone else expect to be the norm. DeCoud got caught spectating and out of position on one, and Franks (who may not even win the NB battle) was beat with no deep help on the other. Watch the film; correct it and move on.

Turner's not leading the league in preseason rushing; so what? Has he ever? The guy is good for 1300 and 10 every year. We've been working a rotation at RG with a new starter and center has also seen action w/o our starters. But hey... even some people look at the Mona Lisa and think she needs makeup.

It will all be seen soon enough. Either we are ready or not.

There have been a 1,000 useless posts since the Steelers game but

you do your work and have your opinions thought out. Keep it up.
