crankdatfalcon
With the new rule change, i have yet to see bosher kick the ball deep or out of the endzone. And the way our special teams have been playing, we need a kicker who can do that. Think about it, 1st week, devin hester or johnny knox back returning kicks or punts. Week 2, deshaun jackson returning punts..Its gonna be a long season if bosher cant get his job done and use this new rule to his advantage. dmite
You don't think he's laying them up on purpose so the coaches can evaluate our coverage team? How else are they supposed to evaluate them?
PokerSteve
Bosher couldn't kick his way out of a wet paper sack. When you try to get off cheap, which the Falcons love to do, sometimes you pay a hefty price for it. Looks like they'll have to go find a kicker in the next few weeks who can at least fake being a real NFL kicker and show Bosh the Lame to the exit. Sun Tzu 7
I was thinking we should have tagged him but we tagged him last year so it would have been too expensive. This is the NFL... Place-kickers should grow on trees.
SYD
If we paid koenan we would not have been able to get Edwards. Koenan was way to much money for a kicker and he has not even been all that good the last two years.

Andre5000
Koenen got so much money he should almost feel guilty. Could you imagine? You dont have to watch film, dont have to run sprints etc. All ya gotta do is go punt the ball and kickofff a few times and get 19.5 MILLION? wait , did i say 19.5 MILLION for 6 years ? and 6.5 Million guaranteed ! WTF? no punter is worth that. Ray Guy could come back to life and punt 80 yards every time and he's not worth that.

How else are they supposed to evaluate them?ok yea i can see him doing that the first game, maybe the second game also, but i mean come on, at least put it through the endzone once. His leg is not strong enough, therefore we have to depend on our special teams to come through which hasnt really been a good thing the past 3 games. He's placing the rest of them inside the Five on purpose. He apparently has pretty good control over his kickoffs and they are using that to evaluate the coverage teams. delaigle
I do not know if this is true or just talk but one of the announcer at the Jags game said that Keith Armstrong likes to kick it short because he believes his special teams can pin the opponents inside the 20 nearly every time. We are going to try to get you inside the 20 and create some field position for our defense. . . I’ll take the chance in covering your deep. Borat
Because we can stop them at the 15 with a high kick or let them get to the 20 by kicking it out.And would you really prefer Koenen over Edwards?

vel
Not we should have paid Koenen. It should be "Why did we DRAFT him?!" Seriously. TD didn't see anything on the board better than a punter?! He could have been had undrafted.

markdzul
not a huge deal.... Bosher can kick in into the stands if he likes.. thats not a question.. He has to get better with his ball placement....
Gritzblitz 2.0
There's no way we were going to pay a punter what Koennen is making in Tampa. Not a chance.I agree that Bosher needs to get the ball in the endzone more. But I do know that many teams are intentionally kicking the ball short in the preseason so that they can evaluate their kick coverage. I expect to see 80% touchbacks once the regular season starts. Ransack
Dude get a grip. There's only one way to evaluate special teams right now and thats to kick short and force a return. If you noticed it's something that we need to work on.
