GENERALZOD
I know it's preseason, and it doesn't matter. The thing is it's well known that the 3rd game of preseason is the time that most of the starters play and it has more of a real game type of setting. Because of this, it really bummed me out that the Falcons lost. I know there are several different things to consider, but "THE FALCONS LOST!". Yeah, preseason doesn't matter, but like I said the 3rd game is more or less like a for real warm up game for the starters who will be playing in the real games that count for both teams. As a Falcon fan I got to thinking earlier that knowing what I said above in this thread, and how bitter this makes me feel that the Falcons lost, the reality of things are that I can only hope the Falcons players feel the same way, you might ask why do I say that? I am saying that because instead of riding a wave of success all year only to lose in the end to know what that feeling is like they more or less got that out of the way if you look at things like I am talking about. Yeah, it's preseason. I know you can speculate on the what if and such things forever as a fan because you don't know the truth behind these preseason games. All that being said, I noticed several mistakes on the steelers part that I doubt will change. You can't bunch your defense in such a closed space at the snap all season and expect not to get burnt at some point by a hard count or some other type of quick slant play call "JMO". Don't get me wrong, I'm not being a hurray positive Falcons fan saying "Things are ok", I am saying, this was a bitter loss for me, preseason or not, being the 3rd preseason game I am looking at the loss as something like : "I'm glad the Falcons starters got that first loss feeling out of the way in a game that does not count because when the games that count start they are going to be a much better team because of it". These are my thoughts, and I apologize for sounding like a whiny pooch, but being a Falcons fan I took this preseason loss for some reason more worse than I have in a long time. Mostly I just watch parts of games in preseason, Although this season unlike others I have high expectations for the Falcons and rightfully so. Bring it on regular season! This loss was a loss, preseason or not by the regular season starters, meaning they've felt that sense of urgency on being prepared. I feel the Falcons are ready to make a superbowl run, loss or not. They may have very well played against their superbowl rilvals in this steelers game, but that's ok, doesn't mean they will play a second game against them the same way, or the results will be the same if that were to happen. So I am saying to all of FALCONS NATION out there : "IMO - They've felt the agony of defeat, now the Falcons are going to kick some serious butt and have a better season because of it!". Just a few of my thoughts. DO ME A FAVOR, and do yourself one, post your thoughts on the game and what I am talking about here instead of making this thread about what I have had to say. It would be good to hear different perspectives and thoughts on these various subjects I have mentioned here. The main thing I am trying to say here is : "You can't always take the negative things out of a preseason game as a negative, sometimes they are a positive because they show you where the work needs to be done".GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! birdz4i
i still have concerns about depth at cb. yes, i understand it is only preseason as most point out. and i can understand keeping the offense and blitz vanilla but coverage is coverage. we let a guy ranked 3 or 4 on the depth chart kill us. which means he was lined up against nickel and dime corners. this is my concern considering the number of spread offenses we face this year. i hope we might bring someone in to help, but like i said coverage is coverage. it will not magically get better once the season starts like the front 7 blitzing or offensive play calling. if this is tony s last year i sure would like to get him a ring, or at least a playoff win. it would be a shame to have the greatest tight end in history to have never tasted a playoff victory. jmo. I guess all we can do is wait and watch.Although I will say it wont be the end of the world for Tony G. if he doesn't get a ring, his wife is smoking hot and he's pretty much set where money goes. Although I know what your saying, a career playing the game like he has and does deserves a ring. Hopefully He'll get that ring this season and perhaps a few more also.
