FalconFanSince1970
Come on folks. This is a problem area. We ranked 20th in sacks last year. Eight sacks from the Top 10. We missed 8 on Brees alone. IN ONE GAME. Rodgers, Freeman and a couple others have punked us. This issue has cost us a few games. Smitty has been begging for sacks for three years now. Everybody is missing sacks. It wasn't just BWill. Abe, Biermann, Busterson, Lofton, Spoon, Nic, WillyMo, you name it. They could have made BVG look a lot better. Could be scheme or position coaching but I think it's mostly player execution. Take the right angle, settle down on the fakes and make a G D tackle!!!!!! Edwards needs to contribute. This year. We need pressure up the middle from somebody other than Babineaux. The LBs and DBs have to get there and finish. They have been weak.Super Bowl teams get QBs on the ground. Even the IND and NO defenses did.Big Ben would be a good start. We play him in two hours. He is the toughest QB to get on the ground. Likes to extend plays. Playing behind a shaky Oline. Put that mofo on the ground. Tonight. Stay on that mindset all the way to the Bowl.

He needs to help Babs provide that strong 1 Gap pressure up the middle so that Abe and Edwards can catch the QB when he flows out from that pursuit. If Jerry doesn't do what I saw him do repeatedly at Oxford on a regular basis then I'm afraid we might put up similar stats....even though a healthy Spoon and Lofton could mix into the equation a bit too. vel
I honestly think when our players cross the line of scrimmage, their arms die outside of Abe
root down
I'm hoping for a fully healthy explosive jerry also. I was also one of the ones that was high on his drafting. Need Trey Lewis and Vance to bring it too. How is Peters injury?

He looked good in camp and had a couple plays in preseason. He could be the X factor. Dude needs to watch some Rod Coleman tapes.Gritz, I know that's your guy. I'm pulling for him. He needs to earn his money and draft slot. We passed on some gems to select him. He could change the game. Hopefully he can. So far he has been a disappointment. The only reason I haven't given him a third grade nickname is because I can't think of a good one. That's a tough one. Even tougher than Sam Baker. I had to get one from Tandy for him. SackMakerBaker. Classic. And so true.

Can't wait to upgrade that spot. I'll be watching LT in college very close this yr.at least the Bears O-line looks like a sieve.

bossFALCON™
if we start wrapping up the qb i think we'll finish in the top 5 in sacks this year. i bet we average like 3 or 4 missed sacks a game.
Guest JoeSr
Yea, if we start finishing on potential sacks, I believe we would have been top 10 in sacks last season. This season I believe we can still finish top 10, maybe even top 5.

I know what I saw for the 4 years he absolutely tore it up at Ole Miss, but some guy's college accomplishments don't translate well to the NFL.I just go by what I see on the field.....and so far I haven't been impressed with Jerry as a pro. FalconFanSince1970
Falco can put him on th' ground. +1 bro. There is no doubt in my mind that Falco can put NFL QBs on the ground. What do we need to do to get him on the field?Instead of RISE UP I think our 2011 slogan should be something like "Put The QB On The Ground Now"This would change the entire make up of our team. It would allow the offense to open up Madden style. If they can't the offense will have to protect the defense again.
