YKW
Well YKW let me ask you this. Who do you think is the super bowl favorite. If the season started today who do you think will win the super bowl. Give me your honest opinion, and I'm not trying to imply that the Falcons are or should be the super bowl favorites.pats and packers. YKW
That 49ers dynasty was orchestrated by the greatest offensive mind football has ever known, Billy Walsh. We, on the other hand, have Mike Mularkey.im sure there was a collective BILL WHO??do not explain football to these great fans of the game.again please explain how we look like the niners and not say the browns, or jets from the 80's how about the danny white led cowboys?its just all make believe to some of y'all.you make it up and try to believe it
paulitik
If we still had micheal v I would agree with the hole dynsty thing.go birds2 winning seasons out of 6 is a dynasty?
Kevo
Seems like we are building our team in that way. Our offense will be very potent and our defense will be nasty. I just have that feeling that it's our time to shine, and we are building to shine for many years to come. It's gonna be great. ATL on the rise. You'd have to win multiple playoff games and multiple Super Bowls first to be considered a dynasty. So far you have neither
DavyDmx
If we still had micheal v I would agree with the hole dynsty thing.go birdsIf that was the case then why didn't he do so while he was here? (Oh I forgot he took his talent for granted and refused to better himself through film study).
The Dirty Bird
We just need to retain our players and we will be top contenders for the entirety of Matt Ryan's career.I think we still need another stud DE in the next few years to pair with Ray for the future, and we'll need to get a RB in the 1st round over the next few years as well to pair with Jacquizz. If we do that, we will have a very long time with the same great players to win multiple Superbowls. It's a very exciting time to be an Atlanta Falcon fan. LaffyDan
Maybe we're getting just a bit ahead of ourselves here, then again maybe not. Yes this team is destined for greatness, but we need to take advantage of our weak division first and then capitalize in the playoffs. Never before has this been easier to do. The panthers are a joke. The buccs are a joke. People try to make an argument for the saints, and I admit they were ok two years ago, but with the loss of Brees they have quickly returned to their former "suck status". Sure Brees is still around but he's coming off his worst season ever, a season where he set a new personal record for interceptions. I dont know if he's just getting old, decided to play without his shoe lifts or what, but he looks terrible again so far this preseason. Without a decent OL to protect him, he'll be lucky to survive the first two games. He's already running scared out there and making bad decisions. Without Brees the Saints are toast. We know the division is ours again. We just need to make the most of the post season this time around. Can we? Never doubt it. Rise up.. the dynasty begins now! cargojon
Your "miracle in Miami" was followed by the biggest post season flop in NFL history. You must be so proud. So who won your division last year anyway?oh yeah.. stings dont it?Falcons with their #1 RB hurt = 6-10 teamSaints with their #1, #2, #3 RB's hurt = 11-5 wildcard team that came within a missed chip shot field goal of winning the division and HFA.The reason the Falcons will never have a "dynasty" is that there is no depth in key position. Your RB has been abused over the years and it one bad hit away from being done for his career. Your TE, while being a lock HOFer, is old and any time now is going to hang it up. The problem is, you mortgaged your draft this year and next year to bring in Julio...so now there is little opportunity to draft depth/eventual replacements for Turner, Gonzo, etc. This is the kind of move the Haslett or Ditka era Saints would have made. The Saints OTOH continually build depth at position where there is already strength. They draft a top DE with Will Smith and Alex Brown already on the roster. The draft a RB when they have Thomas, Ivory, Bush, etc on the team. They draft a TE when they already have Shockey and Dave Thomas on the team. This allows them to replace Bush when his production doesn't equal is salary, dump Shockey when his injuries make him unreliable, etc. As long as Drew is under center, the Saints will be a winning team (perhaps not a Super Bowl team every year) because there is depth.Dimitroff isn't worthy to carry Mickey Loomis's jock. I did not say that we are a dynasty, I said we could soon have a dynasty team like the 49ers of old. I'm sure there are classes that will help you with your reading problem.
