Jaquizz Rodgers

Recommended Posts

Three of those runs were like 10 yds each. Only one time was he stopped for no gain. One time he was about to be caught in the backfield for a loss and he got away and still got positive yards. On the other two carries he really fought for tough yards but he impresses me very much. Even without Smith and Johnson not doing anything in addition to screw ups like muffing a punt, getting stuffed for a loss, or just getting caught in no mans land or going down on first contact a yard short on 3rd down, Rodgers is still ahead of those two in my book.

I dont remember a muffed punt, I do remember a muffed kick off and that wasnt Quizz.

But Quizz did look good last night, hiding behind the o-lineman and he only had one chance to catch a pass but he caught it.

This guy will be very valuable to this team, we kind of saw why we only gave Snelling a one year contract.

Quizz at times looked like he was going to take it to the house with his cut back moves. He has great vision and does something that none of our other running backs do, is hit a hole that is not there at first but creates it with his moves.

And he's a load. He squares his shoulders at the point of contact and plows ahead.

Absolutely. I don't know why people knock his size. Barry Sanders was about 5'7", so is Maurice Jones-Drew, and Dunn was about 5'8" in cleats. He's also at or around 200 lbs. That's normal size. He's on a few inches shorter than Turner.

I think he's a few inches shorter than these guys, to be truthful:

My main concerns were if he would be knocked down with one hit, and if he would be able to take the hits physically. I was optimistic about both concerns, and after seeing him against the Jags, I'm not worried at all anymore. Dude was dragging guys and taking hits and popping right back up really fast. Quizz is going to be really special for us. Once Turner is done, all we'll have to do is make sure we have a decent sized compliment/change of pace back for this guy and we'll be golden in the run game.

Looked good. The coaching staff is making a huge mistake by not playing him with the first teamers. If he makes the team, that's what he'll see. Turner and Snelling already know what it's like to play against first teamers, so why not give Quizz some reps? Makes NO sense.

I think that Coach Smith is doing a great job mixing it up. He played some with the first team last night. He mixed it up some, and moved them all around. This is something that we have not done in the past. I would like the see him start one. So, yes I feel where you are coming from.
