I know it's preseason...but

I know I'll get flamed, and I know this is preseason, but we really struggle moving the ball whether against first unit or scrubs. And so far we make every defense look pretty darn good. Maybe we are keeping everyone guessing and we'll unleash our real team during the regular season. God I hope all this offense being explosive talk isn't just that. Not panicking....just concerened.

Maybe a little overconfidence left over from last season? The games are being lost at the line of scrimmage, both O line couldn't protect, and D line was getting pushed around

I saw a few good things on both sides. The first two offensive drives it seemed like we ran the ball pretty good but couldn't pass. Then later in the first half we couldn't run but Matt was finding a few throwing lanes. I think its just a matter of polishing things up so we can start putting some complete drives together. Defensively, Brent looks good. The two turnovers were good although I feel like it was %65 Jags mental errors/lack of execution and %35 us being heads up. I think both offensive and defensive lines have some work to do. Matt needs more time, and we didn't generate the pass rush I wanted to see. I think we miss Peters too because there were some runs the Jags got that I'm pretty sure would have been more difficult with a bigger body like Peters in there. All in all we did a few good things, more bad things. Most definitely have work to do, but thats what preseason is for. I'm more than confident that on Sept 11 well be ready for the Bears. Last thing, we were missing 3 starters on D so I wouldn't worry too much.

There's ups and downs every preseason...

I think Jacksonville may have wanted this one more considering how they were hammered last week.

They thing is to see how we respond next week...

I also think Jacksonville was doing some things up front to get pressure against our first team...

They had the advantage tonight but we'll be better prepared for them when we see them again in the Dome.

Some of you guys are overreacting. Do you realize there is no real game planning going on?...These are just individual talent evaluations. I would be more concerned about individual performances than the score (Sam Baker, Chris Owens, etc.). I think the Lions were like 4-0 in preseason the year they went 0-16. And the Colts are always horrible in preseason.

Yeah, we really had a hard time moving the ball against the Dolphins when we went up 17-0.

Dolphins had a lot of their first string guys that didn't play till tonight, I pointed out in another thread that JJones catch and run was against 2nd and 3rd string guys. The dolphins game only served to highlight the huge drop off in depth and how much this team cannot afford injuries

Do you people realize how many starters we had out? Let go down the list:

-Cory Peters

-Dunta Robinson

-Todd Mclure

-Ray Edwards

That is 3 impact players on defense and an anchor on our O line. This game actually made me feel really good about our depth. You people need to chill with these threads. The sky is not falling
