Something Unusual

Recommended Posts

Well before the season kicks off I would like to share my enthusiasm, as visibly noticeable this year more than ever. Something about this season feels authentic to me....I have the most enthusiasm and expectations ever going into the season and I will tell you why.

For the first time ever, Our coaches, our GM, our Players all are on the same page. What do I mean by that....No more petrinos, moras, reeves, no more empty phrases and words rolling off the tongues of people to the tune of Mike Vicks, Deangelos, and me type players and coaches. I got so used to hearing people talk but with no substance, No authenticity that you knew what was coming out was moreso a botched attempt to say the right things, but you just knew that the players didnt mean them, believe them, buy into them, live them. **** petrino quit mid season....If thats not a death sentence for a coaching career then what is.....How can a guy thats coaching a team to never give up, even if your down by 10 pts with 2 mins left, teach his whole career to never give up, always fight and play your best, walk off mid season in an almost tantrum like state.....Screw that clown. Our new Staff says things, then they do them.......Our players now speak as they do things, not about the possibility of things they may accomplish. We have a swagger, a winning attitude, and a belief, players want to play here....players work together to get better, and we are still under the radar which i truly love.

We have quite possibly the best team we have ever had....Ryan is coming into his fourth year and should now finally have a firm grasp on the system...his arm strength looks better than ever....his weapons this year, On a scale of one to ten, I would say are at 9. last year it would be hard for me to say even 6. Roddy is a true number one, so much so, that he put up some of the best receiving numbers in the nfl, without a number two, actually with a pretty avg number 3 in the two spot. Jenkins, lets face it, for a former first round pick, with a solid qb, and hall of fame TE, and the run game we had, **** he was absolutely terrible and if it werent for a couple big catches he made like in the chicago game on the sideline to put us in fg range, his career wouldnt even be remembered.. Think back, how many jenks plays do you remember......Exactly He sucked and the only reason he caught the balls he did was because roddy took double coverage sometimes triple on some plays.....With Julo in the two, and with Harry who I also feel is amost a very capable two himself in the 3 spot, Gonzo, Burner, Rodgers, even our 4 and 5 wrs are now going to play fantastic...we will literally be able to spread the field nonstop without a soul out there capable of stopping what we have the potential to become. GET READY FOR SOME SERIOUSLY AMAZING FALCONS FOOTBALL BARRING INJURY

ON the D, last year our d wasnt that awful.......Throw in a healthy former 1st rounder in P Jerry, another year in the system, someone opposite abe thats going to be a beast, bierrman, and other guys gaining more stregth, more knowledge, J Anderson not wasting space or money, our safetys will be even better, D Robinson hopefully fully in tune with the system, grimes is going to be real good i feel, we might just have a top five defense people, seriously....And our LB are all young, fast, aggressive and in their primes. They are ball hawks and I think the line improvements are going to make our lbs look amazing, and our dbs look much better than they are. I watched the first pre season game and foks, its been a while since ive seen our D look that fast, and all flow to the attack point and to the ball so fluidly.

We have a ton of reasons to be excited...This is the year we will notice drastic drastic improvements on each side of the ball....The only area we wont improve, Special teams and losing koenan will hurt

I can appreciate your enthusiasm, but this is actually year 4 of that, not the first time I ever.

Here is the way I feel about this year, and I share your enthusiasm. The starters are the best team the Falcons have ever put out there, even better than the 98 team. If the Falcons have good luck with injuries, they are right there with the Packers and Eagles and whoever else for a Super Bowl run.

The depth....it's not as good as it has been in some years. The Falcons are not set up well to handle injuries to the O-line, WRs, or anywhere in the secondary.

So let's hope they don't have injuries.

I feel pretty good about the depth to the OLine and WR's. The secondary is another story. I do, however, really like what I have seen of Franks and Walls, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed there.

I really do wish we had Brian back this year.

I am just really worried about injuries, particularly to our secondary... If we lose grimes or robinson we are in a world of hurt, same goes for the safety position, I think our offense will put up enough points though each game to where teams must throw and if healthy we are in a great position to defend that with our D

The Falcons are probably OK at WR if Harry is really back, and he probably is. So maybe I am wrong about that.

The OL, I am probably being too harsh too, but JPW was getting murdered the other night when the second stringers were in.

In the secondary, I think the Falcons have an issue with both safety and CB, because I'm pretty convinced at this point that Schann Shillinger is not a guy the Falcons want to have to run out there at FS under any circumstance. I think he is a ST player only.

Did Coleman land anywhere? Maybe we can bring him back for minimum wage lol.

While I share your concerns about depth, we have several youngsters who could be coming into their own this year. Depth may not be as bad as we think. My main concern remains at corner where the potential is not as developed as in other positions.

Tonight Is nationally televised, should be a good preview for us

Believe it or not, I actually did not know that lol, so thank you for pointing that out. I just assumed I was going to have to look for a crappy feed online.
