Vick in the Dome and Falcons Fans cheering for him

Im happy that vick bounced back. I have no problem with him. I wish the best for him. He is indeed electric. My problem starts when So called "Falcon Fans" cheer for him when we play him. if you are a vick fan, you are a philly fan. Not a Falcon fan. What true Fan cheers when a person on the opposing team scores on us?? I just don't get it

Well put, but you can't fault people from Atlanta coming to a game to cheer on their favorite player. Just because they're wearing the only Vick Jersey that they have doesn't necessarily mean they're an atlanta fan.

He's good for the NFL. My favorite league. I view him now like I view any other competitor. I hope he does well but want to kick his as any time we play him. That goes for Rodgers, Manning, Brady, Brees, Ben, Rivers, Vick, you name it.

I'm a Falcons fan not a Matty Ice fan. Somehow we object to people being Vick fans but urge everyone to be a Ryan fan. When Ryan throws a TD I cheer for the Falcons not Matt.

And when Vick throws a TD, you boo as a Falcons fan, not cheer him on.

That makes you a Philly fan.

If you are behind Matt, you are a Falcons fan. Doesn't mean you are a Matty Ice fan, but you have to be behind him as a Falcons fan, especially in such a QB driven league.

I don't think our fans are cheering for Philly and I believe you know that, our fans are cheering for the person. I have faith in the fans this time around. The Boos for the iggles and Vick were much louder than any cheering back during that game in 2009. It just so happened that our team didn't show up that day, so the typical ATL crowd cleared out and all that was left were the Vick huggers.

If our team shows up we'll be loud and proud of our Falcons for sure.

Im new to this board and probably will be negged for my feelings towards this. In my opinion there are several things wrong with that situation.

First and Foremost: The idiots who claim to be Falcons fan's but root on Vick even while playing the Falcons. If your such a big Vick fan, root for the team he plays QB for.

2nd: The Falcons "Fans" that are reluctant to go to the game because they don't want to deal with the people who haven't gotten over their affinity for Vick. That's the exact reason we as a city have a bad sports reputation. ****, there are HORRIBLE teams with fan bases that would be out in full force telling Vick to **** himself.

My feelings toward the situation is that if your a Falcons fan get behind your team and who plays for your team now. Vick made a tremendous amount of money from our franchise and didn't appreciate it. I'm glad he was able to make a comeback and turned his life around, but he no longer leads our team and we have a young, high character, stud quarterback now. Arthur Blank is putting the product out there, which is alot more than most teams could say. So lets support our Falcons and not someone who didn't appreciate what our franchise did for him. Run with it or run from it.

Give me a f'n break! You act like the guy is some innocent victim. Nobody made him start a dogfighting ring. Nobody made him flip off the fans, nobody made him get herpes, nobody made him try to sneak a weed bottle on a plane, etc., etc. He is, and always has been, dumb as a box of rocks. He made bad decision after bad decision while he was here, and continues to do so by saying dumb sh!t in interviews.

You want to buy a ticket to come cheer for a guy who pizzed on this team, the fans, the city, etc... that's your right, just don't pretend to be a fan of the Falcons.

I've liked him, disliked him (after he quit in that Panthers game), then went to not hating him. Now I just don't give a s*** about him period. Wouldn't hurt me one bit if Abe ripped his leg off at the thigh bone then throw it across the field to the Eagles sideline.

Had a discussion with my best friend who is also a falcons fan (30+ years). Said when Vick comes to Atlanta he can't help but cheer for him. My blood started to boil. The discussion when on and he said that Vick would get lot's of Atlanta fans going for him in that game. How the he11 can you be a Falcons fan and cheer for the guy who is trying to beat your team. I'm telling you this is going to be an odd game. I will be there and it's going to be hard to contain myself (but i will) if the guy next to me has on a Falcons jersey but cheering for Vick. Might feel like seeing an ex-girlfriend who dumpped you with another guy.

I think we'll win this game so in the end that's all that will matter but the though of it makes me sick.

I haven't seen the latest figures, but as of November last year, Vicks jersey was the most sold jersey in Georgia according an article on NFL.com. No wonder this fan base was recently rated 30th out of 32!

Eagles will be a tough team to beat this year and with the way the Falcons have played in their last few home games (GB & NO), ita not looking good! Although this time the stadium won't completely empty of all the Atlanta fans in 3rd quarter, the Vick fans will still be around,

Yes I agree, let's sign a 32 year old Mike Vick to a $15M/yr contract in the offseason and have Matt run out the rest of his contract on the bench. That way, we can commit $30M/year to the quarterback position and be perennial contenders. Especially since Vick wants to come pack to Atlanta so badly as made obvious by his comments earlier today.

Then you are not a Falcons fan, so go to the Eagles board. The guy quit on this team. He didn't study film, practice hard, etc. He admitted this. I would never root for a guy who did that to a team, think how Warrick Dunn and those guys should fill. The comments today is just him trying to blame someone else for his crap. Sure Mora/Knapp are to blame for allowing him to be lazy, but he was a man, getting paid like Peyton, so he should have done what was expected. Hope he fails again, at the end of last season he looked bout like the same old turnover machine Vick. Hope that is all he is for the rest of his career.

Its not the fact that people want them to support Ryan. They dont want them to support Vick. As a football player he is good. But, he is not on my team and I will NEVER cheer for him in the dome. I will NEVER cheer for him when he is playing my Falcons. And I will NEVER cheer for him to get a superbowl before we do.

What if your sister married a brilliant college student and supported him in med school? But the guy was drinking and abusive and eventually flunked out. Then they get divorced. The guy shapes up, gets remarried, graduates, and goes on to a great career as a doctor.

Now, it would be one thing if he said that your sister was a wonderful woman, he treated her wrong, and is very sorry for everything that happened.

I've been telling people that Vick was a sociopath from the very beginning - that he never actually changed. He is doing what he is told to do because of an ultimatum.

He only stopped dog fighting because he was caught, and he only changed his attitude for football because of debt.

The huggers will make any excuse for him because in their mind he can do no wrong. I think people are obsessed with star power rather than the quality of human being - they simply don't care.
