falconsfaninfresno
Had a discussion with my best friend who is also a falcons fan (30+ years). Said when Vick comes to Atlanta he can't help but cheer for him. My blood started to boil. The discussion when on and he said that Vick would get lot's of Atlanta fans going for him in that game. How the he11 can you be a Falcons fan and cheer for the guy who is trying to beat your team. I'm telling you this is going to be an odd game. I will be there and it's going to be hard to contain myself (but i will) if the guy next to me has on a Falcons jersey but cheering for Vick. Might feel like seeing an ex-girlfriend who dumpped you with another guy.I think we'll win this game so in the end that's all that will matter but the though of it makes me sick. FalconPio
Thats exactly why I have no intentions on going to this game. I won't be able to tell the difference between the real Falcon fans And the vick fans with Falcon jerseys on :mellow:Well until vick scores of course Edited August 18, 2011 by FalconPio
Delete_Me
agreed - I don't mind Vick ... but if he is playing the Falcons I don't want to cheer him on, after all there will no longer be a home field advantage if everyone is cheering when Vick takes the field
±0.5
I'm not going. I fear an all out race war. Only way I go is if the Dome people allow me to pack my 0.45 and Rambo knife.
IceFalcon
Yall are wussies. Definitely going, and calling out anyone I can. It's going on the 4th year with Matty Ice, and if you still aren't behind him yet.. you need to go support Philly.
Sun Tzu 7
I just hope it's not as bad as the last time that the Eagles came to the Dome when Vick was the back-up.I REALLY hope the coaching staff gets their **** together and comes up with a decent game plan and the team doesn't come out and get embarrassed... again. This is a national game and I would hate to hear how Atlanta is the worst sports town in the country... again. Finally
Can we at least wait until the week of the game to start all of these types of threads? If it makes your blood boil shut up about it until it is time so the rest of us don't have to think about it.

Kinda telling that this part of the story will basically get ignored.I remember Abraham saying after last year's Philly beatdown that the Eagles were doing all kinds of sets, shifts and motions that we hadn't seen or expected. That's all on our coaches.Right now Reid owns us. Football wasn't fun anymore," Vick told ESPN The Magazine. "If I had stayed in Atlanta, I'd be a year or two away from retiring.""In the NFL, schemes make great quarterbacks," he added in the ESPN The Magazine interview. "I love Atlanta, but I wish now I would have been drafted by the Eagles." It has been widely presumed that Vick's 21 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to financing a dogfighting ring altered his perspective. But Vick told GQ that prison wasn't where he decided to make changes."No ... I had changed my life long before then. I was just with the wrong team at the wrong time," Vick told GQ."I was turning the corner. I was cutting my braids off. I was changing my life. I wanted to live the life where football and family were the only things that mattered. I was ready to do it. I felt like time was running out on my career. I needed focus," he said, according to GQ.So, would he still be an elite quarterback if he'd never went to prison or was never discovered to have been involved in dogfighting?"Only if I had gotten traded to the Philadelphia Eagles," he told the magazine. "They never tried to change me."Vick is a punk. I dont hate the guy, but I would never cheer for him in my home stadium. DownvoteDon
What if your sister married a brilliant college student and supported him in med school? But the guy was drinking and abusive and eventually flunked out. Then they get divorced. The guy shapes up, gets remarried, graduates, and goes on to a great career as a doctor. Now, it would be one thing if he said that your sister was a wonderful woman, he treated her wrong, and is very sorry for everything that happened. But what if he said I wish I had never married her in the first place and implicitly (or expressly) criticized her . . . even blaming her for his earlier lack of success?Would you want that guy in your house? Personally, if he took the gracious approach, I'd shake his hand and wish him well (but probably not recommend him to my friends.)But if he took the other route, I'd knock the snot out of him. sharky
You're not going to stop football fans from loving Vick so you might as well get over it. Vick is the most exciting player in the league so how can you not appreciate that. Everybody else has forgiven him of what he did, and most importantly, if God can forgive him who are you not to, I'm glad Vick was able to come back and do what he's doing. When the Falcons play Philly I want the Falcons to win period, but I also want to see some excitement. LET'S GO FALCONS!

FalconinPA
Well , I don't really worry about what other fans do. I do know that I will be cheering for the Falcons. People worry too much about what others fans are gonna be doing, and it's their choice. If they make a fool of themselves, it won't concern me at all.
