phattywankenobi
Can you guys tell me why Jacquizz Rodgers is fifth on RB Depth Chart??It's preseason. The depth chart has very little value at this point. Typically every year the lower round rookies are simply put at the back of the chart. Ryan started out behind DJ Shockley for a little while. k-train
The guys who have been in the system for a year start out higher than him. The coaches do that to make the new guys earn their spots. They are basically telling him that if he can't beat out Johnson and/or Smith, then he doesn't need to be part of this team. It helps the young guys stay hungry & not just get lazy because they feel like they "made it" just by getting drafted. Also, it helps Johnson and Smith stay competitive. It Quizz was automatically in front of them on the depth chart, they might subconsciously start to think they really don't have a shot to make the team, and thus they don't go 100%.During a time when the staff is trying to evaluate the entire roster, it helps to ensure guys are really giving their all. birdz4i
probably because he is least familiar with the playbook. johnson and smith have both been in the system longer.
