So, Saints fans, what do think about Stinchcomb's release?

If I remember correctly it was the VT86 guy who started throwing the Katrina shots, and he says he isn't a Falcons fan.

it was not just one single fan...it has been several.

I even saw it as recently as 20010 from Falcons fans claiming our Superbowl was a pity thing and it was an NFL wide conspiracy

That's not directly making fun of katrina though, that's just saying you guys got it as sympathy.

No worse then those idiots from SR that invaded about 2 years ago and started screaming about how they hoped Sherman came back and burned down ATL again

as was already pointed out, we got Katrina insults which is just as classless if not more so

cheering for an injury versus making fun of lots of people dying and thousands of people losing their homes and livelihoods

how about we just stop associating entire fanbases with the actions of a few because if we don't then neither one exactly has the moral high ground

Are Saints fans worried about the new Oline taking time to gel and Brees getting hurt in the meantime? Not asking for that to happen, but If it was Falcons replacing 2 pieces on the Oline, I'd be concerned for Ryan's wellbeing.

i dont like changing two pieces to our oline but atleast Strief has been here for 5 years.

i think you'll see some breakdowns early in the season

I'm not worried.

Kreutz has been doing this for a long time and I think that Stinch was one of the weak links on the Oline.

I trust Payton.

I'd say that some of the personnel changes are cause for chemistry concern. But nothing so specific as the scenario you mentioned. You have to wonder how the team's personality will change after losing high-profile guys like Shockey and Bush, and good leadership guys like Stinch and Goodwin. Still, Brees, vilma, Payton and Williams all loom pretty large down there.

Are any of you ATL fans worried about not having an LG who's ever started an NFL game?

No, because it's one guy and his replacement has been in the system for a couple of years.

Saints are replacing two, a center who got cut from one of the worst Olines in the NFL and has never played with the rest of the Oline and a back-up replacing a guy that was so bad they took a 9 million cap hit to get rid of.

And wasn't talking about leadership but about just the mechanics of meshing two guys into the Oline.

Kreutz may have been on a bad oline, but he's still rated top 10 at his position. The Saints have been tutoring these 2 guys for this day for awhile unlike your guy who has never played a game in the NfL Strief has and from what I heard he is looking good.

I was with you. I'm not worried about Kruetz. Dude's best years may be behind him, but his best years were all-pro. He played well towards the end of last season and deep into the playoffs. He's a proven commodity. Much less of a risk than Tennent would be. Also, he didn't get cut. He turned down $4M for the season.

Streif has actually started a few games and played pretty well, plus he's played significant snaps in just about every game since 07. He brings much more continuity than Reynolds.

OK, you new center was not wanted back on one of the worst Olines in the NFL.

That's ok. I trust in our scouting department, Mickey Loomis, and Sean Payton. Kreutz is a future HOF that knows the game better than most. He will now be playing between the best guard tandem in the NFL and his play will show that. Plus he looked real good against San Fran. All things look good right now.

Our new center was offered and turned down $4M to play for the runners up in the NFC.

Both our statements are true- Chicago's Oline was not very good last year, they didn't want him back. They were 500,000 apart- they could have re-signed him with a little effort.

Not really. You don't offer a guy a fully guaranteed $4M deal if you don't want him. Mangold (the league's highest paid center) is on a $4M/yr guaranteed deal.

And, if they really wanted him, they would've kept talking to him. But let's just go on, don't think we're changing each other's mind on this.

we don't know what was going through Chicago's mind or even what their cap situation is or plans for the near future. All those things factor in

what we do know is that the guy had a high offer on the table for his position and was rated as one of the best last year

what I find interesting is that PFF was the supporting source for your opinion in the first post and after it was determined that PFF actually said he was one of the best last year your opinion didn't change. instead, you went and found a circumstantial piece of evidence to support the opinion you already had when the solid and objective piece of evidence didn't work anymore

I never asserted an opinion that was subject to change.

The Bears made him an offer. Would you make an offer on a house you didn't want to buy?
