**** Joe..What got into you? Normally you are one of the better posters on AFMB. I'm not sure if it was alcohol to blame or what, but your OP post doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I didn't neg you or anything, just trying to get a better understanding of your thought process through the whole thing.

I would much rather get Julio and every other single rookie out there all the looks they can get in the pre-season simply because we KNOW what our stars can do, and we KNOW that they can produce at a high level. We need to get these young rookies in the game, to get them up to speed with the way the game is played in the NFL. If I had it my way, I would play the starters the first quarter of the first game, and they would never see the field for the next two games, and then play 3 quarters the last.

Julio is going to take a TON of pressure off of Roddy and Tony in the passing game, but in order to do that, Matt and Julio need to build that chemistry. The only way to do that is to connect early and often in the pre-season.

There have been four linchpins to the Falcons offense over the last three seasons. Ryan, Turner, White, and for the last two, Gonzo. You'd think that all four had earned some respect from their offensive coordinator, but that's clearly not the case. Mike Mularkey decided to turn PS1 into the Julio Jones show. Gonzo was targeted once. Roddy not at all. I get the Jones love, but that's no way to treat a first-ballot Hall of Famer and last year's most prolific receiver in the NFC. Gonzalez and White are the two most prideful men in that locker room - last night their coordinator deliberately stepped on their cranks. I like Mularkey a whole lot more than most on this board, but he created a rift Friday night and he needs to pull his head out.

I'm not going to flame or neg you like most people here will do, I'll simply explain it for you. Julio was negatively affected by the lockout situation, so it was important for him to see a lot of action during the first, as well as the rest of the preseason. We all know very well what Gonzo and Roddy can do, and we don't need to risk them getting injured in the preseason. Julio needs all the reps he can get during preseason to prepare for the season.

I do not know why you have a -37 rep for this thread. That is ridiculous. You cannot express your opinion or state your stance without people bytching up and getting all sensitive; and, JOEinPhx you usually are one of the more level-headed posters here. This is why I do not get it. It is not like you are a troll or trying to cause discontent.

Anyway, I feel the coaching staff wants to try out their rookies and newly-acquired players. After all, that is what the preseason is designed to do. :)

It has nothing to do with us being sensitive, it has everything to do with the OP being an idiot.

Posting that Roddy and Tony are angry they didn't touch the ball in a preseason game is ridiculous. It's one thing to have a logical well thought out opinion. Making up a bunch of bull to stir stuff up on the board deserves at least 37 negatives. Is the OP going to come back after the 4th preseason game and say all the starters are angry and pissed because none of them touched the ball?

NEGATIVE 55! On ONE comment! You sir, should be the recipient of some sort of award for this little gem...

Go back and look at Roddy celebrating in the end zone with HD after his TD catch.... I've never seen Roddy that excited about one of his OWN catches, let alone one for a teammate who has had a rough two years battling back from a serious knee injury...

I guess you missed that part...

Nor do you have any sort of gauge on the cohesiveness in the Falcons' locker room... Nor do you have any reason to believe that Gonzo and Roddy have these giant egos that were smashed because they weren't utilized in the least important game of the PRESEASON.

Seriously..... If it's not asking too much, try to actually use your head to conceive and process a rational thought before typing out your asinine nonsense on a message board... It is definitely not Mularkey who needs to "pull his head out" as you so eloquently put it....

Exactly...

As I pointed out, all you have to do is rewind to the HD touchdown to see how "disappointed" Roddy really is....

If you start an entire "waste-of-bandwidth" thread based on an empty and invalid point that holds absolutely no merit nor an ounce of truth, you deserve every negative click you can possibly gather...

It's not asking too much to actually have SOME sort of truth in the foundation of your post....

If I ever make up some garbage claiming to have some sort of psychic insight into Roddy White's mind and claim that he is some sort of whiney malcontent, when clearly he is exhibiting the opposite, please feel free to neg the shizzy out of me, as well...

If you think Tony and Roddy weren't pissed, you'd be wrong.

You have to be joking, no one is this stupid. How do you know they were pissed? was it by Roddy White coming into the endzone with no helmet, laughing and "butt raping" harry douglas after he scored a TD.... or was it when he slapped Julio a high five and hit his helmet after his 17 yard run play??? PLEASE tell me when! Did you interview him after the game Joe in PHX! Please go be a cardinals fan.

Well since you are obviously really tight with both of em, why don't you tell us exactly what they said to you after the game? When Roddy came to you for a shoulder to cry on, did he seem more disappointed or angry?

I don't believe in negging so i haven't ^_^

I think I have negged 5 or 6 posts since the option was added to the board...

I've clicked it twice in this thread.

I believe that even a troll's opinion is an opinion he is entitled to.... But this guy is claiming to have absolute knowledge that Roddy and Gonzo are actually ANGRY about not being part of the game plan in what virtually amounts to an annual scrimmage for UFA's...

He didn't say, "What if Roddy and Tony are upset?" or "I think that they are ticked off about not being the 'Stars of August Football.'", he claimed that they both ARE in fact angry, and if you do not agree with him, well you are wrong, because he is the team therapist and felt that this little nugget was so "thread-worthy" that it demanded a Breach in Doctor/Patient Confidentiality....

I find this thread to be utterly neg-worthy and I judged it as so by clicking that little red thing.

I wont even get into the part about Roddy i will instead just focus on Tony. The man is a first ballet HOF player and a 1st class individual as well. He knows the purpose of preason games and knows what he has to do to be ready for a 16 games season. If you think for a second that hes mad or upset about not getting targeted enough in a meaningless preseason game a month before the season starts than you have not been following the NFL long at all.
