And there you have it folks. The answer to your question.

This is the one thing I wanted to mention about Julios performance last night. Yeah, he had a few nice plays, but if those, very few, nice plays are going to come at the expense of pro bowl production, folks, we are in trouble!

YKW has struck again.

Julio will not not hurt Roddy or Gonzo's production. As a matter of fact, Julio could actually help them by allowing them to get more looks because teams( if they are smart) will not be able to double cover them.

There have been four linchpins to the Falcons offense over the last three seasons. Ryan, Turner, White, and for the last two, Gonzo. You'd think that all four had earned some respect from their offensive coordinator, but that's clearly not the case. Mike Mularkey decided to turn PS1 into the Julio Jones show. Gonzo was targeted once. Roddy not at all. I get the Jones love, but that's no way to treat a first-ballot Hall of Famer and last year's most prolific receiver in the NFC. Gonzalez and White are the two most prideful men in that locker room - last night their coordinator deliberately stepped on their cranks. I like Mularkey a whole lot more than most on this board, but he created a rift Friday night and he needs to pull his head out.

You are manufacturing controversy when there is none. There were three series for the first team offense, one was a three and out. Pre-season is a glorified scrimmage. Mike Smith was also interviewed after the game and said that the first 15 plays were scripted and that none of the plays were designated for JJ. Ryan was just in a read and react mode, just so happened (save the reverse) that JJ got the ball. I don't get the whole "disrespected" angle of your post.

Hey I agree, Mike Mularkey should have played White, and Gonzo the whole game. Because thats how you treat a first-ballot Hall of Famer and last years most prolific receiver! You should really change your account and get a new screen name now. Because this is the most asinine thread I have ever read on any fan board ever! Even worse than the Aints board, and they really got stupid crap over there!

Has anyone ever thought that they may have been targeting him early to SHOW OTHER TEAMS what he can do so that they have to game plan for him? This will undoubtedly open things up for 84 and 88. If I were them, I wouldn't want a single **** ball in the preseason with Jones looking like the best thing since Jerry Rice in all four games.

well i was at the game and i have a good view of the falcons sideline Roddy,Tony, and Micheal were on the sidelines, laughing and talking with fans. That was in the 3rd quarter. They didn't seem mad to me. Everyone at the dome came to see JJ catch the ball. Everyone in the Dome knew we was going to JJ. he caught 3 outta 5 passes thrown his way from Matt. When he grabbed the reverse Roddy and Tony both threw good blocks and Roddy got hype like he ran the reverse. These guys love to play but they also understand its preseason and probably wouldn't care if they didn't get to play 1 down in preseason. If one of those guys get hurt in preseason then we'll have a thread saying "WHY ARE THE STARTERS PLAYING IN PRESEASON"

Just watching the game you can see Tony and Roddy were excited for JJ its ridicules to think otherwise any ELITE player in the NFL could care less about preseason , it's just so the depth players and the rookies can get some action and the coaching staff can get a better look at them . This is probably one of the dumbest posts I seen on the boards jeeeezeeee.

0 and 16 is staring you in the face!!!!!!

Seriously dude, it is the first preseason game. Starters usually don't play a lot until the 3rd one.
