JOEinPHX
There have been four linchpins to the Falcons offense over the last three seasons. Ryan, Turner, White, and for the last two, Gonzo. You'd think that all four had earned some respect from their offensive coordinator, but that's clearly not the case. Mike Mularkey decided to turn PS1 into the Julio Jones show. Gonzo was targeted once. Roddy not at all. I get the Jones love, but that's no way to treat a first-ballot Hall of Famer and last year's most prolific receiver in the NFC. Gonzalez and White are the two most prideful men in that locker room - last night their coordinator deliberately stepped on their cranks. I like Mularkey a whole lot more than most on this board, but he created a rift Friday night and he needs to pull his head out.

Guest Big A
Preseason is about practice! He played the players that needed the most practice! Why you are reading into it so much more than it was is silly and ridiculous.
McSpanker
So instead of seeing what our new rookie wide receiver has, we should see what our best players have, even though we already know their good? Interesting concept

kiwifalcon
OPI think your making a mountain out of mold-hill with this I think in no way would the OC deliberately go out to alienate any of these 2 perrenial pro bowlers it is pre-season and I think MM wanted to find out what he has in JJ so I'm not really worried about roddy or TG as I no when the regular season rolls round TG and Roddy will get theres. On a secondary note it was good to see HD and Ryan hooking up and it seems he has explosiveness back with the timimg with Ryan.So for the moment I won't fault MM. Its a preseason game and 2. they are TEAM first players.
madman88
If you think Tony and Roddy weren't pissed, you'd be wrong.how u think that, roddy is doing nothing but congratulating his guys after they make plays, and he and roddy has said this plenty of times that they just want to win... ryan: there's no prima donas on this team'' roddy: i dnt care if i catch 80 balls and he(JJ) catch 80, as long as we win'' wat makes u think they were mad??? SetzerFalcon
If you think Tony and Roddy weren't pissed, you'd be wrong.TG's tweet after the game last night: "Feeling great about the team after our first game, Rise Up! Got some stuff to work on, but it was a good first game. #falcons #allproscience" Yeah, he sounds like a man working out his anger issues.Roddy's tweet after the game last night: "Felt good coming out that tunnel tonight can't wait to really get this thing started" Holy cow, feel the rage!Seriously, your premise implies a problem that doesn't exist at all. Tony and Roddy don't need reps with Matt, Julio does. Matt's entire purpose last night seemed to be: get the ball to Julio, feed the ball to Turner and then go home safe and sound. JOEinPHX
First time I've ever piled up negs on a thread. Looks like I've found the motherlode of guys who don't understand an elite athlete's mind.Sure they're team players, but Tony and Roddy don't take the field to be ignored. Not in any game. ch46745
If you think Tony and Roddy weren't pissed, you'd be wrong.Roddy and Gonzo are the two most proven commodities we have on offense when it comes to receiving and they will get their share in the regular season. I bet that they would not have even cared if they were to not even suit up for the game do to it just being preseason.
Borat
Newsflash!Roddy and Gonzo don't give a **** about the preseason. ****, Roddy didn't even want to come to camp at all. They just want to get a few reps and get out before they get hurt. They were more than happy to let the the new kid get a few catches, because they know they will be bringing it in the regular season. The answer to your question. This is the one thing I wanted to mention about Julios performance last night. Yeah, he had a few nice plays, but if those, very few, nice plays are going to come at the expense of pro bowl production, folks, we are in trouble!YKW has struck again.
