How Long Until?

How long until Julio is matched up 1 on 1 with the opposing teams 2nd best CB and he catches like a 5 yard hook breaks a tackle and runs down the rest of the field for a score? I will go back and bump this topic when it happens because I'm sure sooner or later that is just bound to happen. I'm calling vs the Colts he will catch a quick pass, shrug the guy in front of him off and score.

If we get Turner playing like he does, and Roddy and Tony are doing their thing, Julio is going to be all alone 1 on 1 and this kid is going to break a tackle vs a 5'10 185 pound guy. What I'm asking is when do YOU think this will actually happen? Good luck on your guess.

I really wanted to say preseason too, but I went with the Colts. I should have said regular season games in the op, but this is fine too. It's like Matty thew passes in preseason games but we all think of his first real pass as a TD to Jenk. When will Julio break a tackle to the house in a real game?

Plese....NO 5 Yard HOOK patterns...MM

One of JJ's highlights from college is a 5 yard hook that he puts a move on the DB after catching it and is off to the races for a TD.

Let's not forget that a lot of MM's offense has option routes for all the receivers so it's a lot of times based on how the WR and QB see the defense and manipulate them. JJ will be better at this than Jenkins was.

You guys may not know but the comeback/curl/stop route is one of the harder routes to cover after the slant. If the WR is explosive he can climb up the corner's back forcing him to turn his hips and come back as soon as that happens and you have about 3-5 yds separation.

It's a play that's ran until it can be stopped...granted. The ball has to be on the numbers. You know the DB will play 5-8 yards off anyways. I don't question whether it'll work...

Not going to predict, but doubt we have to wait until the second half of the year to see it.

What I want to see is the smoke route- where Ryan sees Jones single covered with the DB playing off a few yards, takes the snap, takes one step back and turns and throws to Jones. If Jones makes the DB miss, it's off to the races. Never saw Jenkins break the tackle- he always got 4-5 yards on that play. Jones will make the DB miss and will make a ton of yardage.

It rarely worked in Atlanta....just like the screen play.

I can picture it like that, but I don't think he will have to make a DB miss. I think sheer power on a much smaller person will give him a play like that very soon.

it will be either the preseason, or the first game of the regular season, the NFL will not respect anyone until they show they need to be... so he will get A LOT of one-on-ones until he can prove he can beat them consistently... so he will have a lot of chances to break some tackles and go score

When it counts the most and that's the first regular season game against Chicago.
