koolkat
Ray Edwards had "minor Knee surgery" in the offseason. Don't know what it was for but he hasn't practice in hitting drills and will miss the 1st preseason game. Could this be the reason his value drop and he didn't get a big contract??? koolkat
im guessing it depends on how severe the surgeryIt COULD have affected it.JMO. It does explain why a 25 year old gets a big contract and a 26 year old doesn't. Plus it seem like alot of teams were after CJ and RE had alot of teams go a different direction. Big Bubba
It could be why the Vikings weren't all that interested in re-signing him.For his sake, I hope it's nothing. Guy is too young to start having his career hindered with injuries.

Falconsfuturedynasty
Well Brees is the only player that I think anyone can really call elite on the Saints. Edited August 12, 2011 by Falconsfuturedynasty

Edwards remebers all the times he got introduce to a pancake block and the ground by Otah.

tobyd77
THE SURGERY RAY HAD MAY HAVE HAD SOME EFFECT BUT YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT THIS IS ONLY PRESEASON FELLOW FANS SO THERE IS KNOW NEED TO RUSH RAY OUT THERE JUST YET.WE HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT @ THIS POINT BECAUSE YOU USUALLY WON'T SEE STARTERS REALLY BEING ACTIVE MORE UNTIL THE THIRD GAME OF THE PRESEASON WHERE THEY WILL GET THE MUST REPS FOR THE STARTING OFFENSE AND DEFENSE SO DON'T WORRY.THE GOOD NEWS IS HE COMES TO US BEING VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE FALCONS DEFENSES SYSTEM BECAUSE THE VIKES RAN A SIMILAR ONE IN MINNIE WITH THAT BEING SAID I WOULD RATHER HAVE HIM READY TO FACE THE BEARS IN THE SEASON OPENER THAN TO RISK HIM GETTING HURT IN A GAME THAT DOES NOT COUNT SO DON'T WORRY.PLUS HE WAS NOT A 1ST RND PICK EITHER IN THE DRAFT AND THAT ALSO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR PAY HE WAS A 4TH RND PICK IN 2006 IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN.CHARLES JOHNSON WAS A 3RD RND PICK WHICH I BELIEVE HAS SOME INDICATION AS TO WHY THE FALCONS WERE NOT GOING TO PAY HIM THE CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT THAT THE PANTHERS DID WHICH WAS WAY TO MUCH FOR A 3RD RND PICK IN THE DRAFT IN 2007 IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT YEAR YOU ARE HAVING THOSE DRAFTS HELP TO GAGE HOW MUCH A PLAYER IS WORTH AND HE MUST BE WORTH A LOT TO THE PANTHERS. Big Bubba
Yep.. Draft value determines how much a person is worth all through their entire career. Does not matter what they do during their career. If they play great or horrible. A third or fourth rounder will always have their same respective draft values. Zodiac
He had his knee scoped a few weeks ago. He's fine, he'll miss 2 or 3 preaseason games at worst, which I really dont care, I don't really like my starters in the preseason
bossFALCON™
It was just a scope. The falcons are just taking it slow and being cautious with him just like a bunch of other teams are doing with their players. We did the same thing with dunta last year, who played all 16 games and was just fine.

Big Bubba
and it will be fun watching Abraham take Gross to town, like he does everytime we play. If that were the case, wouldn't Abe have like 10 sacks a game against the Panthers, every time he plays them?
Zodiac
If that were the case, wouldn't Abe have like 10 sacks a game against the Panthers, every time he plays them?I think he has 10 over the past 5 times we've played you.I know he had 4 last year over both times
Big Bubba
I think he has 10 over the past 5 times we've played you.I know he had 4 last year over both timesYeah, but they go against each other like 20+ times a game (assuming Abe only comes out on third downs). So that's around 100 times in 5 games, they've went head to head.. and 10 sacks out of 100 attempts, is a "win some, lose some" scenario. It's not really "Every time"
bossFALCON™
Every time meaning every game they play. No DE is going to get a sack every single play against a tackle. Giving up 2 sacks per game to a DE is really bad.
