Voice of Reason
I just dread all of the "our offense looks horrible" threads on here aferwards because everyone is going to want them to throw deep every snap.Oh come on, you know it's coming. The Falcon Jedi Knight
I wonder if the starters might get more playing time than usual, since the off-season was reduced. Or will they even play at all?
Sheldon Cooper
One good thing we have going for us is all of the same guys coming back. We will have two new faces on offense(RG and WR) and one on defense(LDE). Two of the three are regarded as considerable upgrades though. The small amount of turnover will hopefully translate into less time needed for starters to gel, therefore, I suspect we play the roster exactly the same as every year with injury free being the primary goal of the pre-season. The ones should play the first quarter, the two's the second and third and give way to the remaining players in the 4th. The starters will play more in week two, log their most time in week 3, and play very little in week 4 showcasing the unknown's.

Abe
There is no way to really express how I'm feeling about this upcoming season. A Patriot and Falcon Super Bowl is a great thought. I love preseason too. Watching these guys fight for their lives is better than any reality show. With the shortened offseason these next few weeks will be even more intense. The guys I want to see this first game is Julio, Quiz, and Dent. I will also keep an eye on the guard and nickel corner battle. I know Ray will be on display too. Dharma Initiative
I think the battle for starting outside linebacker will be fun to watch. I was at training camp today and surprised by the size of Dent. He could make a good push for it.

I assume that 'Spoon and Nic are already penciled in for starting jobs and Dent's backing up all three (Spoon, Nic and Lofton).
Tallahassee
I'll be looking at the O-line, to see how the loss of Dahl affects their chemistry. I don't expect there to be any setbacks, but I'll be watching nonetheless. That, and praying for no injuries....!

Sheldon Cooper
According to Mike Smith, the key battle for us is nickel back. He said we play 5 DB's and only 2 LB's like 55% of the time. that means our #3 CB will play more often than the 3rd LB. I really hope Franks locks it down. I still like Owens, but I think he is better off as the dime back vs 4 WR sets.
RED ZONE TD
I just dread all of the "our offense looks horrible" threads on here aferwards because everyone is going to want them to throw deep every snap.offense might not look good early but I want to see a mean mean defense out on that field. You can't score on me you can't win !!!! The falcons was 5th in all of NFL lastyear in points allowed and that the only real stat that matters. I think that the secondary will improve now and we gave up to many TD's passing in our RED Zone.. Having more pressure should help that stat.Oh come on, you know it's coming. dhayester
I'm hoping to see only one thing.. and thats seeing JJ destroy a #1 DB other than Dunta or Grimes . I know he's capable, I've watched most of his college games at Alabama. I just want to see this translate into the NFL.At the same time, I understand it's preseason, and ****, it might not even be full speed with the ones, but i just wanna "see it to believe it"
dhayester
And one more thing.. I want to see a deep ball strike by Ryan to cull all the 'noodle-arm' haters.
