Falcon Fan 79
ESPN has confirmed via the Baltimore Sun that the Giants will now trade Osi for a 2nd rounder. Lets make the trade and kill some QBs!!!!
Guest mashburn
Wow, they must know the falcons really want him. I hope this happens. We would have a great defense. do you think other teams would want to face our defense, or our offense more?
Radiohead
Guys, I'm sorry, but this is not going to happen.Osi is going to want Charles Johnson type $$$.
lystrodom
Two reasons why this won't and shouldn't happen:1) Osi is going to want a lot of money. Too much money. That's his primary concern in NY.2) We already have a reduced draft next year, let's not make it worse.
birdz4i
rather wait and see about mario next year,
peoriabird
We might set a record if the Osi thread start rate continues at this pace! And even thought the staff nor GM has given any indication that players like Osi and Samuels will be signed, the fan base continues to post away. In fact I don't even think that Snelling will be here next year. Edited August 3, 2011 by peoriabird
AtlantaFalconPokerPro
Just curious what made you think we needed a second thread about Osi? It was posted last night that the price had dropped.

Guest mashburn
Besides, We dont need him. Why give away our 1st pick next year for a guy that will be a rotational player?I do see and understand your point. But how many players come out as a bust? capologist
Why would we want him? 1) He's on the wrong side of 30, 2) He has injury issues, and 3) we have DE's...
CrimsonFalcon
Again....why do people not realize that he's going to want to be a starter...we have two starters. We didn't invest a ton of money in two DEs to have them as rotational guys with a third guy who will want starter money. GET OVER OSI!!! I just envision packages on defense that would be incredible with osi....for passing personnel have ray play the 3 technique with Abe and osi edge rushing and babs in the middle....Abe is already a situational guy anywaysGET OVER OSI!!! CrimsonFalcon
Jerry was drafted for his pass rush ability. If healthy, he's better than Ray out of position.

schwarzenegger321
You know, I don't think we need him but it would be nice to have one more vet DE until the BEER man steps it up.If I were GM, and I'm not, but if I were I would offer the Giants a 3rd pick next year contengient on Osi signing a 3 or 4 year deal worth 6 million a year. He would never take it and the Giants probably wouldnt either, but if they did he would be worth that.Might even offer them a 5th and maybe throw in sidbury. Osi would be a step up, but he is older and has injury issues. The Giants would never take that unless he becomes a real pain in the arse and no one else offers anything.Still, no way Osi takes 6 million a year. He probably wants 9 - 12 million and he is no where near worth that.
muskokas finest ©
I don't think giving up a 2012/13 2nd rounder is anywhere near the issue that finding salary cap space would be.Osi would have to take less money this year and the team would have to tell JA55 it's his final season. Abe
He is not available as of now. The Giants retracted their statement. He is no longer able to seek a trade.

Jp7833
If they will take a 4th round pick for this upcoming draft and a conditional pick in the 2014 Draft, I am all for it. Regardless, I heard earlier that Osi is no longer on the trade block.

RHEC
The Giants informed Osi Umenyiora and his agent Wednesday that they are no longer permitted to seek a trade partner. Giants demand was still a first round pick, not a 2nd round pick.
