DirtyBirdDynasty
With Blalock just resigned TD has done an outstanding job in FA so far. There are a few moves left to be made as we head into the season.1. Resign Snelling. We hope Rodgers can provide a receiving/3rd down back but he's a 5th round rookie with no NFL experience. Snelling has proven a reliable receiver and effective runner. We would be wise to limit Turners regular season carries or his career will be over soon. Perhaps we offer Snelling a 1 year deTal to earn himself a starting gig on the open market next year. There really aren't many other options available for a receiving back on the market.2. Add a veteran nickel CB. Owens wasn't ready in the playoff loss. He will compete with Franks but we should add a vet CB with a small contract to add to the competition. The pass rush is improved but we need to be able to matchup with 3 WR sets.3. DE/TE? DE was our #1 need and it has been addressed but we might want to consider adding another as Sidbury and Matthews are unproven. Some may see this as overkill but we lost in the playoffs to the Superbowl champs because we couldn't get to the QB with a 4 man rush or cover when we blitzed. Jacob Ford, Mark Anderson and Andre Carter are all intriguing options. TE is interesting because its more of a luxury but Peele isnt a receiving threat. We would be wise to bring in a talented young TE to learn from Gonzo while hes here but may not have cap room.4. Depth-LT, S. Baker has missed time with injuries and we would be wise to have a vet OT who could step in if needed. Theres not much proven depth at safety either

MrDirtyBird
I think the OT,DE,TE should be the least of our worries..The nickle back position is a battle and i think that is a necessity for us.. and i think Snelling will be back if not, Dimi will figure it out. vel
It's funny how everybody complained about the OLine being subpar yet they are happy that Dahl is the only one gone. Clearly they weren't that bad. They will look better this year with Julio opening things up forcing the defense back
sdogg
Resign Snellz and get Zach Miller and a vet NB. Then we are set to go on a SB run.

DirtyBirdDynasty
Wow I'm surprised to see Miller's still out there, he's probably not what we're looking for in a blocker but at 25 with his experience, production and receiving ability it would be a real coup if we could snag him he could certainly learn a trick or 2 from Gonzalez.Kevin Boss is still available he's 27 but might be more of a fit as a more physical inline blocker. He would not bring as much as Miller in terms of receiving ability but would allow us to run 2 TE sets with him Boss on the line and Gonzalez out in the slot. If teams play base Gonzalez has a favorable matchup if they go nickel he can motion in as a run blocker.
DirtyBirdDynasty
We already have that Svteck(sp) was resigned before lock out.Im talking about someone to replace or atleast compete with Svitek. I havent watched him play all I know is he's a former 6th round pick of the Chiefs

maxatlanta
Say Roddy gets injured, what does our receiving core look like?Julio - rookieHD - stunk it up last seasonMeir - coming off injury, no experienceWeems - did not make the roster based on WR abilitiesThese are the facts. We'd like all of our young talent to pan out, but its foolish to count on it. That's why we still need a vet rb (Snelling), a vet cb, and a vet WR. *TMo*
I think we're done. We'll see how the Grimes deal falls out. I think he'll be back. We will probably see some bargain FA signings that could help but I think we're about set now.
DirtyBirdDynasty
Well Grimes is a RFA so we can wait till next year to deal with his contract but we might be better off extending him now as the price will go up after a nother productive season

They have to get him to agree to sign a 1 year contract now. Edited August 1, 2011 by delaigle
kbsmooth1975
I really honestly hope our next move is to go after Zack Miller. We will truly become the greatest show on turf part deuce. Signing a youg vet WR would also be a good idea. Steve Smith, Randy Moss, and a few more are still out there.
markdzul
really interested in how much cap room we have left after the Blaylock signing.... Not sure we have room for any other big signings...

blizzard_falcon
If we lost out on getting Snelling back, who would you all want to replace him? We probably don't have the cap room to go after someone dynamic like Ahmad Bradshaw, but what about one of these players:Ronnie BrownRicky WilliamsJerome HarrisonMike HartKenneth DarbyOut of all of them, I'd look at Harrison because I think he offers a different style than Turner or Rodgers, and he has good career numbers as far as YPC and receiving ability. Some of the better veteran cornerbacks available are:Kelvin HaydenCarlos RogersKelly JenningsLito SheppardHayden is probably out of our range, even with his recent injury history, but I wouldn't be surprised to see us reach out to one of the other three over the coming days. I can't believe we're actually ready to go into the season with no replacement for Brian Williams.I don't see us targeting TE this offseason, unfortunately. I would LOVE to get Zach Miller or Kevin Boss, but I'm not sure the money is there. We'll see, though! Maybe TD will surprise us.
KANE337
Who is replacing Erik Coleman at backup safety? I think we need to sign a vet to replace his spot if we don't have anyone capable of doing so on the roster.
