AngryBird1997
As much as I've Googled,Youtubed and Wiki'd this guy, I can not find much info on why he was our second round Draft pick...I know Lofton has injury issues/age and Spoon hasn't got it just yet and we need some depth. The only thing I can really see is he can snuff out a option play pretty good so that may help against the screen(which we need) but but does anyone have any info or footage on this guy to justify his selection? FlyHighFalcons
Well you won't find much on why he was our 2nd round draft pick because he was our 3rd rounder.
madman88
honestly i can see this being another business move to secure them for the future... with lofton only being 25 with two kness already being looked after (maybe nothing), but if lofton falters this season or something happens i can see this as his replacement... or he can beat out coy wire for the back up spot and play on ST.... but remember this is a 3rd pick... it;s not like he will be sitting around doing nothing...he played all three spots in college and has a nose for the football on run downs... very similar to lofton in that aspect... AtlantaFalconPokerPro
Versatility. He can play anywhere on the lb corps, and has a lot of upside. If he busts, we only used a third.
FalconFanSince1970
He can play SLB and MLB. We like hybrid guys like that on offense and defense.Went to my high school. Saw him play at UGA too. He can play.Imagine a slightly more agile NIc.
Menage a tron
He was one of the best LBs in the SEC from what I was reading back then, im sure you can find stuff - great run stuffer downhill guy and tackler - Not the best in coverage etc.
Sheldon Cooper
Somebody posted on here that TD had Dent rated as his #1 ST's player. If that is true, I guess I understand why they valued him so highly. After Peters selection in rd 3 last year panned out, I just give them the benefit of the doubt. Oh yeah, some considered him the best MLB vs the run in the draft. Shows great take on strength which most others lacked. Remember at the beginning of last season our ST sucked on punts/kickoffs. TD/Smitty had to make some pretty big changes to fix the problem. Dent can come in and make a big ST improvement. sumslap
Dent is good he is a hard nose football player check out the draft coverage he has pretty good highlights he can be a back up at every linebacker position he is extremely football smart he is a homer .... He is our defensive dj shockley but he will play special teams and back up lb I c him learning from and competing with Nicholas To take over for mike Peterson next yr now his age is a factor
