Minzear
yea... the final 8 rule is more then likely coming back, the parity in the NFL has been considered what has helped it builds it's popularity so quickly over the past few years, and rodger says he believes it's the parity that keeps it interesting for everyone. So what did the Eagles just do, pretty much killed the parity this year. The Final 8 rule is more then likely coming back, I highly doubt the NFLCC will sit their and let the best teams exploit the cap and make insane super teams. The Falcon Jedi Knight
I dont know how on Salary Cap Earth the Eagles have managed to pull off all these acquisitions, but I applaud their GM for pulling all this off.
Borat
Or it means that they won't be able to resign Vick, Jackson, Maclin, McCoy, etc. There's a cap for a reason.
The Falcon Jedi Knight
Clearly, it is Superbowl or Bust this season for them
FlyHighFalcons
What did the Eagles really do?They've added three players. DRC doesn't really count as a big acquisition because his salary is under one million. They will have problems resigning some guys for sure, though. Vick won't be a problem long term because he'll make less than his franchise tag shows him making once a deal is agreed to. Desean Jackson, Lesean McCoy, DRC and two of their starting offensive linemen are all under one million in salary and will be difficult to resign. Borat
Eagles have a 2-3 year window of opprotunity. After that, they're ******. Andy Reid is tired of constant "good," he wants a short period of "great."
King Syrup Golden 32 Oz
For as talented as Mike Vick is...and he is, I JUST don't see him building on his performance from last year. Remember that consistency escapes him! "Dream Team"...we'll see
ukfalc
The eagles have been able to do this because they are generally one of the more fiscally responsible teams, meaning that they had significasnt amount of cap room. They also draft well.As for affording their signings, it's not that diffiult. The cap is flexible enough to allow teams to minimise the immediate cap hits by backloading the salaries and paying large bonuses that are pro-rated for cap purposes. However, they will have to pay the piper eventually. The real test for the eageles, will be whether they can afford to resign their best young player over the next few years. Guys like Desean Jackson, Lesean McCoy and DRC will all require very sizeable contracts to remain. It makes sense for the eagle to have a big push right now, becasuse YKW is 31 and at an age where his best asset - his speed - is likely to decline sooner rather than later. In contrast, we have a 26 year old starting QB who is likely to remain at the top for a decade. Our priorty is to build something sustainable to remain at or near the top for as long as possible. It makes no sense for us to have a big push now and then have to tear everything up and rebuild in 2-3 years.
I Even Bleed Red
It means Andy Reid is scared of being fired for never winning the SB.
Voice of Reason
The Eadles are doing this year exactly what Dallas was doing the past few years. You see where that got them. This year, they've had to sacrifice some talent to pay for their "win now" attempt. Eagles will be no different.

Falcons Win
The only thing it means is the Eagles are scared as **** of the Falcons and they are trying any and everything to have any hope of winning.

Team chemistry is a huge component to a team's success and just because Philly is loaded on paper doesn't mean they don't have a weakness to exploit. Borat
As much as we hate to admit it, due to the Vick situation and their stellar record against us, we will always be concerned with the Eagles' affairs. That is just how it's gonna be.
