Who do you think had the best FA signings?

I don't know. I don't really see the Steelers doing it that much. The Pats haven't won a Super Bowl since '05 - while the Steelers have won 2 since then - and been there 3 times.

I know that when a team is close - they will make the moves they think will help them get there. They "fill" holes and try to shore up their weaknesses.

I think that is exactly what our FO has been doing this offseason for us. Pass rushing was a weakness - they got us a DE to go on the other side of Abe to help with that. Explosiveness - bring in guys like Julio Jones and Quizz Rodgers to give more options to the offense.

Going into last year - our secondary was the biggest, most crucial weakness we had - they went out and got the best corner available on the market.

I don't want to see them "keeping up with the Joneses" - I want to see them continue to move us towards a state of perennial contention and eventual success at winning a Super Bowl.

I don't blame any team for going out and doing what they feel they need to in order to make the team better - but the weakness on one team is not necessarily the weakness on another - and going out and grabbing big names just for the sake of grabbing big names is definitely not the answer either.

Not saying that's what they did - just saying I'm glad we don't do that. Our moves are measured, studied and thought about and they are made to fill holes that we need filling.

This with a +.

The Rams just added another up and coming star

With a franchise quarterback in the making, the Rams now need receivers who can make him look even better. And in a buyers’ market at the pass-catching position, the Rams have bought the services of Mike Sims-Walker.

The former Jaguar announced on his verified Twitter page that he has joined the Rams. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Walker signed only a one-year deal.

Walker, a three-year veteran, received no qualifying offer from the Jaguars, making him a free agent. The decision was confusing, given that he had a couple of solid seasons in Jacksonville, with seven touchdowns in 2009 and seven more in 2010. He had a career-high 869 receiving yards in his second season.

Maybe we can cut some more players so we can keep up with the Iggles. Their "going all in" to win a Super Bowl and our "going all in" looks like polar opposites. Ours looks like we will just be glad to win a playoff game while they look like they are priming themselves for the Lombardi. I hope I am wrong.

Thing is, they have a QB who will be out of league in 2 or 3 years, and a largely older core. We have a newly 26 year old QB and a very young core. The Eagles will be terrible after a short window. We are preparing for 10 years of excellence.

Vick can't play 16 games in a season. Vince Young may make you feel warm and fuzzy sitting on the bench but sooner or later he's going to be needed to fill in. He's such a headcase that Philly fans will have him on suicide watch after his first start.

Desean is already mad. (Or maybe he's still stunned by D-Robs BLOW-UP!)

No doubt Philly has some players. But can they gel? Can Michael Vick REALLY be a leader?

They could be phenomenal......but they could also be a train wreck.

Who had the best depends on who made there team better!!

Nnamdi made the eagles better BUT they had alot of oline problems. Vick was the most sacked qb. Where did they fix that?

Saints. De and rb problems. Drafted both.

Atl. Pass rush and oline. Signed both.

I'd say and I hATE ATL, but both teams did really well.

I don't know who you are, but what have you done with SaintK/SuperSK?B)

bang for the buck, ATL cleaned up

starting LB - 5 yrs, 17M

pro bowl RT - 5 yrs, 25M (most OG went for more)

2nd best DE - 5 yrs, 30M (other top DE got double that!)

Free agency is ALL about getting value for money, and we cleaned up in that respect.

I wouldn't be surprised if they picked up Jenkins. He may be a good fit for them.

I think you have to look at quality of players signed and their effects on their respective team's cap and costs.

1. Pats - Ocho and Fat Albert for next to nothing

2. (a) Iggles - Great signings of solid players but they've really hamstrung their future salary cap. They still have to sign Vick to a long term deal (franchise tag now),

Desean Jackson wants a raise (deservedly so), and as good as Aso has been he's 30 y/o and wont be nearly as shutdown at 34 as he was the last several years. Aso was a luxury pick that did not fill a void. Their LB core is still suspect.

3. Falcons - The Ray Edwards signing IMO is the BEST signing of ANY team this offseason. Not because Edwards was the best DE, I personally liked CJ and Osi better, but because of his consistancy and contract. 90% of CJ's production at 50% if the cost is HUGE. Also resigning all of our OL FA with the exception of Dahl was huge I would like to have seen a more cap freindly contract for Blalock but I'm happy to have him back. We may not have had the FA splash of the Iggles but I think we got way more for our dollar.

Eagles by far!

They added DT Jenkins and a back field of not one but two shutdown corners. And now they added Ronnie Brown to give them a power back something McCoy has not been able to do.

The only good move we have made is adding Ray Edwards aside from that our below average defense is left unchanged. We lost Dahl a huge asset to our run game and a very good punter and place kicker in M.K.

Would love to see us add a good CB, Osi would be a great asset as Abrahms is older and it would help keep him healthy while adding another pass rush king. I also think Ricky Williams would be a great RB with similar size and moves to turnner he would be an awesome back up with Norwood and Snelling gone.

The Eagles got the best players, but they left some pretty big holes on their roster in my opinion. We'll see what happens....maybe they will fill them in the next week.

I hope not.

they didn't do anything for their Oline. I'm not sold on their pass rush either. they may end up being like the Dream Team 04, having all the talent in the world but not being able to gel during games because everybody too busy trying to be the man instead of playing within the team. I'm more scared of the Patriots because Bill know how to get the most out of rejects.
