KANE337
They corrected it. It's actually $19.
Zabriskie
I would assume Shane Lechler makes more than that. But yeah, Koenen is not worth that much by any means. Good for him and his family though.
SetzerFalcon
That is unreal, but awesome for Koenen.

sandtrap
This is amazing news for his family. How much is guaranteed? Go suck it up for the bucs now. Those shanks last year are unforgivable, but if you do the same in Tampa, you'll be out of the doghouse.

AnonFalcFan
I'm surprised they gave such a mediocre punter so much money (based off of last season at least). I won't miss him.

I won't miss him.Last year Frank Omiyale was worth a 6th round comp pick.... His contract was less then Koenan. So right now he is looking like a 6th round comp
blizzard_falcon
Koenen was 28th in the league last year in net punting average. I know Tampa needs to spend a lot of money to meet the cap minimum, but holy crap! Couldn't they go out and make some useful moves instead? Go get Asomugha, or Braylon Edwards, or ANYONE ELSE BUT KOENEN. :P
B_ELLIS24
I'm with the rest of you. Happy for Koenen, but that's some serious green for a mediocre punter!
Peyton
It's about the same thing the Falcons have been paying, adjusted for inflation.Koenen has the leg to lead the league in gross punting, it's just not what he was asked to do here. It's hard for me to believe people don't see that, but whatever.
GEORGIAfan
smh @ him getting that kind of contract. Good luck to Koenen, but the bucs lost.

That seems to be something he accomplished without direction.Add that to the fact the additional 5 yards given to kickoffs and Koenen became very expendable.
