Minzear
After going through next years likely FA list, only 2 jumped out at me, Lofton and Decoud, Yes I know about Abraham, but still I calculated it up, (Have us going into this season with 4 mil of cap space, for the calculations,) and next year we'd be sitting pretty with about 25-26 Mil in Cap space.guess whos an Unrestricted Free Agent next year.Mario Williams, could it be possible that TD is trying to save space to get Super mario in here next year, while still getting Ray Edwards. If he did it might be the greatest DLine to ever line up. Knight of God
Signed a list of UDFA's. Resigned Nicholas and Peterson. LB is done for the offseason as is QB.

g-dawg
while it would be great to have SuperMario, this is a silly thread. All the Texans have to do - and will do - is slap the franchise tag onto Mario Williams.any NFL GM that would not do that, should be fired.Mario will never see the light of day - unless Texans trade him after franchising. If they franchised him, he'd probably holdout all season until they cut, traded, or gave him a long term deal

Secondly, players like Williams don't just walk. Even if he doesn't work well in Houston's 3-4, they'll franchise him for a trade because they'll get a trade for a player like him. Lofton will probably get somewhere in the 6 Mil a year range, Decoud will probably get somewhere in the 4 Mil.Grimes is only a UFA if we dont extend him, which seems to be the plan after he signs his tender. Also Biermann? really, he'll get maybe 2-3 Mil a year

RyanINT+1
Lofton will walk, we won't resign an average mlb to 6 mill

You don't let a player who's playing at the level of Abe to just walk unless he plays very poorly this year. Grimes, most probably will be signed mid-season or next season and he'll get good money which will count next year. Biermann for 2-3 mil is way way off. Good GMs always look ahead in the draft and FAs. Let's you get a better scheme of things. It's just smart to do so.
