J-Wall Posted July 28, 2011 Share Posted July 28, 2011 I'm not trying to bash or insult people but I can't believe a lot of ppls logic in we need to sign this guy or that guy. Nb,de ect ect. Why don't we just let the young guys play? The Pats,Colts,Packers just let their young players get in there and play. I believe Franks can get the job done. We have to just let em play. There wasn't or isn't a DE in FA thats worth breaking the bank for. Beerman is good let him develop he had a solid year last year and will get better. DT is a bigger need than DE. Guys want to talk about pass rush, but how many times did we actually get their and just didnt make the play. Ray Edwards is not going to make our d-lineman wrap up and tackle. Just saying... TD and Smith have rebuilt from the ground up to make a team of talanted young players who by all accounts are working out. 16th rated offense and 16 rated defense with 2,3, and 4 year youngsters mentored by a few veterans and excellent coaching. Be patient. This lock out has f'd all of us fans up, and, especially the team who now must make up lost practice time. I agree, the O line must remain mostly intact. Ryan needs the protection to utilize his improved offensive team. If they can't keep one they must keep the other and hope like heck the young guys step it up. I just don't like to hear " let our player develop, we hear it every year. It would be nice for the falcon filter let loose once and awhile and sign someone. We all know our D needs some fresh quality players, and our play calling on O needs to stop being so generic at times.I'm well aware of how many times we blitz last year, but we couldn't seem to get there in time for the blitz to be effective, and once Williams was gone forget it. Nickel back blitz and coverage took a hit. So the falcons play zone, yes we are a zone system and yes TD signed D. Robinson a known man to man specialist, placing him in a world of difference from what he was used to. So I say sign Cullen Jenkins, who cares about the 3-4 4-3 stuff. Franks does need to get in the game, guy is athletic (remember how Grimes came up?) then for the most part he works hard, over this dumb lock out I have followed him and he has done nothing but work on getting better. We should not be asking a sophomore (i think thats right) player to be as good as Aso, Grimes, or D Rob at NB. We should be telling him to malest that slot receiver everytime the ball is hiked. Thats all we will need from him. The DT, DE, and Oline needs focus. The Oline if we retain at least Dahl, and Blalock we will be just fine. Reynolds has been playing behind a good veteren in Clabo and Johnson is a nasty man (just hope he stays that way and is free from injury). O line is where we need to focus on.Maybe some of the young guys should have taken the opportunity last season when we needed them to and we wouldn't be clamoring to get a FA to come in and solidify those positions.
