ramboozle
Happy but somewhat surprised to see such confidence the Falcon faithful has in our home town boy. Though unproven at the pro level I assure you he has been working hard this off season and is 100% recovered from knee surgery. He knows he has his work cut out for him to make a deep and talented wr roster, but appreciates the support from the fans and is determined to reward their confidence and support. FlyHighFalcons
He won't have much of an impact this season. We're jammed at WR. He'll be the fifth WR at best.
Falcon Fanatic
He won't have much of an impact this season. We're jammed at WR. He might not even be better than the WR's we already have from the practice squad last year (Buckley, Harvey, or Strickland).
ramboozle
To just make the roster would be quite an accomplishment for a 5th rounder that blew out his knee and missed the whole season. If he gets his chance on O he will not disappoint, and will be an asset on ST's. Whats cool is all you guys who are alot closer to the team than I pegging him as a player. Guest mashburn
I think he will be on the roster. white, Julio, Weems, HD. we have kept 5 in the past, and I see us doing no different this year. I do not think we will pursue Jenkins unless he takes a lot less. Finneran is gone. so Julio filled one of the two spots, who do you think will fill the last spot? I have in my mind it will be Meier. FlyHighFalcons
I'd say 3rd or 4th optionWhat? Are you high?Roddy White, Julio Jones, Michael Jenkins and Harry Douglas will all be locks to be ahead of him.
Z-Law_21
One thing that hasn't been considered is that Meier is coming off an ACL. If you remember, the Falcons' staff took it really slow with HD when he had his ACL. That in and of itself might be a deterrent to his chances to be a difference maker. Although I am rather confused, how did you start a post with a "Join date of 2010" and only 12 post, where as the only people I have saw on here in the past able to do so have had to make 100 post before starting a thread. I'm not talking about the users BEFORE THE BOARD CHANGED where it doesn't show a join date. Why are you able to post with this status while others are not?Are you Kerry Meier? Just asking, I'm just saying, something's strange here with your posting ability to start a thread. Get some playing time Kerry, and then come back and talk smack if it is you. AF89
Safe bet is he's nothing more than a practice squad player for when someone goes down. But stranger things have happend you never know. With a little luck maybe he's cracked the top 4 by the end of the season (will depend ALOT on if we still have Jenks and Harry is finally 100%)

Aria7
He won't have much of an impact this season. We're jammed at WR. He'll be the fifth WR at best.Falcons are not jammed at WR by any stretch. Roddy is great but Julio while POTENTIALLY GREAT is an unknown, Jenkins is inconsistent and it goes downhill from there. Even if you count Gonzo, he is on his last legs. He will retire next year. Edited July 27, 2011 by Aria7
Aria7
I'd say 3rd or 4th optionLOL. An unknown rookie (essentially) who is a late round draft pick who did ok in a few scrimmages but did not even make it to the regular season is going to be the 3rd or 4th option? Are you high? Exactly on what grounds do you make this evaluation?

If you were Sherlock Holmes you would notice my previous posts were right after he was drafted. After he went down with his knee, my interest waned as to Falcon message board as I am a born and bred Ram fan...dating back to the Fearsome Foursome of the sixties. But Im familiar with the Meier family and ergo root for him and his team and his success. Outstanding young man with a tremendous work ethic that has been through alot. As I age I've become more tolerant of other teams and realize that football is just a business. My devotion is to my beloved Rams, but extends to whoever is playin the Cowboys. Hated the Pats til my best friends nephew (Lonnie Paxton Jr.) became a long snapper for them. Ambivelent towards alot of teams, Falcons included, but have a soft spot for those I have connections. As far as I'm concerned the only teams to truly despise are the Cowboys, Raiders and Colts. Though Johnny U was a class act.

I can't see myself rooting for any other team unless it helps the Falcons.I really have high hopes for Meier though, I have a feeling he's going to contribute to the team this year in some key situations. Some say he's going to the practice squad, I dunno, we shall see, until they name the final roster it's anybody's opportunity ya know. Guest .WP
I've never understood why people are so high on a guy that doesn't have a single NFL snap under his belt. This guy will have minimal to no impact this season and the sad thing is his apologists will be here next year pleading for him to get a shot in the 2012 season saying "it takes a full season to come back from that injury". Rooting for the guy is one thing; Being blinded by homerism is another.
