kiwifalcon
Gotta say I've been on the Kiwanuka bandwagon months ago and now his injury report is favourable I like the idea of him becoming a Falcon I think the statement the NYG coaching staff saying he gave up his position as a DE to play OLB for the good of the team means right there he's a team guy hard working I think he's a perfect fit in a Falcons uniform. FlyHighFalcons
we didnt cut Babs ..just didnt put him in . Babs still has a good 5 years left.
kiwifalcon
Gotta love those hard working team playersYep I think thats what the mentality the coaching staff has instilled in our players and a guy like Kiwanuka is a good fit here.

I love highly motivated guys. It's made franchises like the steelers and pats play better longer because guys overachieve
Matt Ryan Tutor
The injury is a concern but if we can use him in a rotation or something with beeriman maybe that can reduce in a risk on injury and what I like he will be less money than most other top DE and by the way the babin talk should stop his best years are behind him. g-dawg
I'm hearing that we are done with DE.doesn't make sense. D-End is our #1 need and somebody will be had for cheap that is potential upgrade over Bierrman - or at least someone to rotate with him.I think with Kiwanuka's injury that you could get him cheaper and on a shorter deal. How do you go from desperately wanting Charles Johnson to folding your tent?

FalconMama
Word is that the Pats might go after Mathias. Honestly I think we're not going to sign a DE.. I think they'll continue with the development of Sid and hope that Kroy improves this year. It's a scary *** thought for sure but I think that's the plan. GEORGIAfan
Kiwi could be great depending on how he heals. I say we take a chance if we get a good deal on him. he is one of the younger DE FA and he would be cheaper.
MattM12
Kiwi is versatile, and the kind of threat that would never ever get away from a team if they weren't worried about his injuries and cap space. There is a case where you could argue that the Giants are a victim of their own making, stockpiling talent on the line.Having signed DTs and DEs for fun in recent times, it looks like Kiwi is the odd man out, for both financial and health reasons.Give him a full workout, and if he is greenlighted he is a huge, huge steal for us. Way more than Edwards, for half the money.

Giants simply cannot "pay" all of those guys...Falcons gain.

blizzard_falcon
We can't meet with any free agents in person until Friday. I wouldn't be surprised to see us bring Kiwi in for a visit this weekend, and if the doctors clear him, see him sign with us by Monday.I think TD is still looking to upgrade our pass rush, but with the reports that we have soured on Ray Edwards, it's only natural that Kiwanuka is who we're looking at next. Babin is too old and unproven and I don't think we'll give up anything to get Avril from the Lions or pry Osi away from the Giants.

Smiler11
The thing is Kiwi might be the most the talented DE on the FA market, it's just the neck injury that is a worry.
stumpjumper
If he heals fine, he'd likely be the best possible FA we could possibly pick up.

BigDaddyFalcon21
yeah, I would prefer Edwards but not at the difference in cost - which will be great.I have little doubt now that Edwards is gonna get at least $11million/season now - which is too much for his "hot/cold" motor.I will buy Kiwanuka at around $7million/yr for a shorter deal with less risk to the Falcons.i agree with ya
