Bierman and Sid better step up their game.

Sad part about it, LDE isn't the main problem on the line. I keep trying to tell everyone that. We need a consistant pass rush from the DT. Outside of Babs the only person that gave us a spark at DT was Anderson and that aint good.

Have u been watching falcons games last year ? or do you just not know about peters or jerry

Jerry and Peters did not make a significant impact on our line last year. If they did the people on this board would not be calling for Biermann and Sid to step up or be replaced. Biermann especially, since he is the starter.

This is a circular argument if I've ever seen one.

so in a nutshell, if the DTs had done the job of the DE we wouldn't be having this debate. That may be true but effectively hiding a weakness on a defense doesn't actually make the weakness go away.

Consistant pressure from the LDT or whatever he is called will go a long way for the LDE. That was the reason we drafted Jerry in the first place.

Whether or not the Falcons get more rush from the LDE or DT is besides the point. The fact is they need more rush period. Although, it was a lack of a push from the interior that got them killed against Atlanta. Troy Aikman said it clear as day. He said there was no push at all in the interior and that allowed Rodgers to step up and makes throws from inside and outside the pocket. Your rush can't come only from the outside. I've always maintained that you need at least three disruptive players in your defensive front to have an elite defense. It helps to have two really good edge rushers but you also need some push from the interior as well. Otherwise QBs will just step up all day long and complete throws. Its pretty easy to block edge rushers if you don't have to worry about the DTs. The Tackles just push them wide and they are a non-factor.

Yeah I think Sid has that swagga. I'm definately not too high about Bierman.

Huh ?

Sid doesn't even have enough "swagga" to consistently be on the active roster yet. At least Biermann has made some big time plays in real games.

I'm pulling for Sidbury too but like to be realistic.

Maybe the Falcons can get Babin to help amp up the pass rush. Then let Biermann be that rotational pass rusher to spell both Abe and Babin. Then Biermann could still be used on special teams too.

Biermann has proven to be a good pass rusher when he can play fresh. However, you cannot expect your starting DE to sprint down the field covering kicksoffs. Then 30 seconds later rush the passer. I bet Biermann was the only starting DE in the NFL who was consistently covering kickoffs last season. I bet he will not be asked to do that again.

You might be right but I still don't see Biermann as the answer at LDE. I truely hope the FO do something about this serious problem we have or we'll be in the same situation. Somebody has to step it up.

I understand the concept. My point is that IMO (and sure it's just an opinion) we do not have a starting caliber LDE. We have some young guys in the middle who will hopefully continue to develop. I just don't see Kroy as anything more than a great guy to have in the rotation.

A DT getting pressure will not change the fact that we need a LDE.

Wow....the guy didnt dress most of last season....Did i miss something. If we are depending on Sid and Beirrman to provide a consistent pass rush we are in trouble folks.

Thats why I'm expecting something from him... He sat out the whole year doing nothing. It's time to put that nothing into something! In addition, you would think he might learn a thing or two with different techniques to pass rush effectively.

I got faith in my dude Biermann so I'm ready to see what he soes this year. He should have a chip on his shoulder from everyone basically saying he isn't a starting DE at this level.

Well he probably don't have what it takes, not from a natural standpoint of view. If he did we wouldn't be talking about this position right now.
