JOEinPHX
The Falcons organization declined to comment about employee wage reductions during the lockout. They've now acknowledged that there were wage cuts, but that all lost wages will be reimbursed. My linkThis is a smart move by ownership. A smarter move would have been no cuts at all. Tandy
Falcons reimbursing employees July, 25, 2011 Jul 25By Pat Yasinskas Like a lot of teams, the Atlanta Falcons cut salaries and some employees were forced to take furloughs during the NFL’s lockout. Now that the lockout is over, that money will be made up. A team source said owner Arthur Blank plans to re-pay all employees any money they lost during the lockout. Employees who were given raises after March 1, had their salaries frozen. But the source said the money those employees missed out on will be paid July 31. The Falcons did not have any layoffs during the lockout. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also furloughed all employees for a week in May. The team has said all missed wages would be paid in full as long as no regular-season games were missed.

Peyton
For any and all you guys that criticized Blank for not paying his employees during the lockout you can now be quietLOL yeah I guess nevermind if they weren't able to pay their electric bill two months ago. It's all good now.I like Arthur Blank, but all the owners who did that were punks.
FalconFanSince1970
Hopefully Dan Levak, Jay Adams, James H and any other AFMB employees weren't affected, and if they were, they will get some of this reimbursement plan because they kept the board up throughout the whole ordeal. Good work fellows!

It was Bush league.

Plus I seem to remember there were some endorsement deals that didn't renew automatically in June.

How much money do you suppose the Falcons saved by making employees take 10 days off?

How much money do you suppose the Falcons saved by making employees take 10 days off? There were some sponsorship deals that lapsed on July 1, and a second bigger wave that lapsed on July 15. The owners began losing money at that point, but it was a niggling amount compared to the losses that would have accrued with lost games. In any case, the staffers caught in the middle of this dispute lost wages despite maintaining a regular work schedule, and without having any voice in the negotiations. They definitely agreed with Peyton's assessment that it was bush league.
