You guys have Vick and Jacksons contract coming up, and mark my words, Vick is going to bankrupt you guys. He still lives a very lavish lifestyle and he's just now recovering from bankruptcy, i've heard rumour he'll be wanting upwards of 17-18 Mil a year.

Jackson will want quite a bit too. Also if you guys accquire DRC I think he'd give you a cap hit as well.

To put plainly, you guys cant afford Edwards or Johnson.

I got a feeling Vick will get the big payday, then screw the Iggles somehow like he did us ...poetic justice you might call it .....

I've heard this argument for years...never seems as strong as it should.

Quite simply...every team has players of their own they need to sign. And numbers aren't always what they seem to be...

It was Runyan before the Owens/Kearse year....he was another big aquisition. Then there was Asante Samuel...

And it's not always FAs...soemtimes its a trade that requires a new contract (Jason Peters)...

They don't shy away from paying...if its the guy they want...

Ok Runyan came over in what 2000?

The next big "splurge" was 04

Samuel came over in 08?

Peters came over last year

It has happened but its not overly common.

Well I wouldn't recommend any team be annual participants in the 'top tier' free agent market. If a team is then they are probably not doing a good job with the draft.

My only point is that any team that has 3-4 top tier free agent aquisitions over the last decade or so can't be said to be 'out of the game'.

And the cap isn't an issue (like the other poster said). Eagles are currently under by a little more than 22 million....and that's factoring in Vick's franchise salary of $16 mil already. So even if he did sign for what the other poster suggested, it wouldn't change a thing....it may even give them more to spend depending on how they structured the deal.

Let's be honest. How many people in this thread have closely been watching Vikings games the last three years?

Yeah, that is what I thought.

Let's see what Pro Football Focus thinks, just for kicks.

PFF Defenisve End Rankings

8th best in the league. Interesting.

I have been. My wife is a fan and I keep up with the team. I have been waiting for him to go bye bye.

EDIT: He's better than Mathis, Umenyiora, and Mario Williams...yeah okay. Not drinking that Kool Aid man. sacks aside, I have watched almost every game. He is not that good. On the field alot, but not that good.
